Strength rangers are better at 180+ when you're solo training at mordy pit since there is a 101% chance you will be using heroic hastes. It gets more attacks in and no cooldown and charge up time for attack skills. Save the energy for bolas, light heal, steady aim and sharp shot at mordy pit

great guide.

i used sharpshot for a long time. it did about 50%-100% more than auto. then i started getting hrung braces (vs aggy braces) that didn't have dex. then DL quiver, again no dex. That's when i got rid of sharpshot.

for a while, i tried using sharpshot, longshot and dbl shot - so i had lots of dmg. but i ran out of energy very fast (esp in boss fights).

Currently i use only double shot, but max steady aim and sharpen wep. i also use bola and light heal (with leftover points in rapid fire). This has been perfect for me - my energy is good, and my auto attack is pretty high (between 900-1200 on many mobs) and i get great and consistent skill shots with double shot (not as high as longshot, but works everytime).

also, since the DL quiver adds 600 mythic dmg - when i use double shot i am assured of 1200 mythic dmg on the boss that wont miss. you can get 2 dbl shots in during the DL skill time.

Just so people know, i tend to have str, dex, and vit about equal. it works for me. it doesn't max my auto, it doesn't make my skills break records, but i have very good dps, i have high attack, i dodge a good amount, and i have enough health to survive. I can go through many boss fights without even using an idol because my health is high (about 5k) and i have a good heal (1k) to deal with those nasty aoe skills. But as the OP said, there isn't really a right or wrong stat distribution - it all has to do with how you play your toon.

it all has to do with how you play your toon.
Translation of his sentence: it all has to do with how you make your build and which items you wear
I would add 1 more thing on to that sentence: and how u use what u have.

Can someone explain why on a ranged ranger.. Surely the clue is in the name, you'd stack strength not dex?

The skill descriptions clearly state (early on at least, please correct me if this changes toward end game) that their stat is dex.. Meaning your skill damage scales from dex?

Seems complete insanity to abandon your classes primary stat to pack it into a melee class stat.
