It's not irony. Hypocrisy is more like it.Ironic how he says about badasses behind keyboards isn't it?The simple fact of the matter is that every1 is a badass behind a keyboard, we got keyboard Killas in there mums basement playing halo. I seen all the ****, frankly if half the people who scammed me on the game met me irl I can guarantee they wouldn't act like the big men they think they are. Heck, half of them would beg me not to rip them to shreds
Re: Rivalries and Hate
#12IMO clan rivalries fuel this game. Because of the lack of content, the competition is often what keeps me playing.

#14This thread is already a classic, already have one confirmed cyber tough guy in it and it's just getting started. Looking forward to reading the rest of the "Mine is bigger than yours" posts.
I agree with the lack of content 100% and that has been one of my biggest complaints to date with making people edgy and looking for things to do. I would like to see some of the seasonal type things like the current armor quest stay in place too with killing the Bear, Golem, etc. Only options in game is camp, train or group kill. Need more to do when other peeps are not online, so the medium one person or smaller group type activities are great.

Re: Rivalries and Hate
#16Tbh lack of content is what causes scammers, imo its people who get bored grinding for a total gold count of about 5k an hour who get pissed, know OTM wont do anything so scam, I don't scam because I view it as virtual stealing, I ain't a thief and no lastcall im not 10 yrs old.
Re: Rivalries and Hate
#17I know some one on mabon who thinks hes a better person than me because hes got a bigger heal. First of all that doesnt offend me in the slighter because ur stacked with gear from ur clan, secondly thats incredibly sad. U know who u are

#18The actions and attitudes of people, when online, are based on the fact that there are no real consequences to face. This creates the kind of bravery that even a large dose of alcohol can't match. Irl, even in civil society, there is always the risk of saying the wrong thing to the wrong person and getting your azz handed to you or offending someone to the point that they can make your life incredibly difficult. Here, you don get that. If you burn too many bridges, you can always go to another server or another game.
Acting the fool on a mmo is easy. Carrying yourself with a bit of dignity is more difficult route. To all of you that take the road less traveled, my hat is off to you.

Beware the chickens, they are duplicitous.

#19+1. People also get incredibly worked up but cant actually do anything which makes it a lot easier to make rivalries. Of course nobody ever thinks of the block button...The actions and attitudes of people, when online, are based on the fact that there are no real consequences to face. Re: Rivalries and Hate
#20I agree but there is an alternative. Imagine all the end-game clans in your world playing in one clan, or even in alliance if you don't want to go to far. You would have the whole server to talk to and entertain you, every type of person that you could become friends with. People wouldn't fight about bosses or gladiators or any of it.IMO clan rivalries fuel this game. Because of the lack of content, the competition is often what keeps me playing.
But lets be honest, that is NEVER going to happen. What does happen though, is people always forgive each other, and a sorry or an act of kindness after you have done something bad, I've found to be very effective.
