Re: A discussion about religion
#951So your god decides not to keep people alive, you won't stab yourself because you would die, you know, death. The thing GOD gave you? Ya, what a nice guy. Also I thought you wernt religious eld?
Uh people would still be reproducing. There are certain pleasures that come along with it...Actually it wouldn't be that crowded as you think, there are more people alive today than people dead, in other words, there are less than 8 billion dead people around the world from the start of man-kind, and if death wasnt real then the need to re-produce wouldnt be there, so population would actually be smallerWhy should he not allow people to die? What made the particle is a complex question and one that can't be fully answered, but the fact that many people decide to find an answer to everything gives us the easy option of saying "God". To me, God is in our lives if you want Him to be in our lives. He might not be an actual being or real, but He only exists because we make him exist. I see God as the label for the unexplainable personally.
It is a well-known theory that God is omnipotent and benevolent. If He existed, then why can't he control us? Surely this means that is isn't omnipotent? If he is benevolent, then why is He allowing people to die?
Do you realize how much more crowded the earth would be if no one died?
I'm speculating a bit but the bible says circle. Anyone can see that the earth is a flat circle - for example when you stand on a mountain. Simple goat hearder logic here. Also, just feel like pointing out, the simple fact of the matter is you people are to lost to understand logical reason, it has been proven that the human mind can get transfixed on the fake so much that no logical reasoning or evidence can bring them back, it is a trick that internet "catfish" have been exploiting to great profit. Where is the evidence! Where is gods evidence! Show me the proof or shut up! (And btw the quote that the bible knew the earth was round before normal people did is invalid, proof of a round earth had been tracked back to Greece 500 bc)
The leading scientists in 1900 said the earth could not support 5billion people. They were right using the science of 1900. They failed to account for innovation, modern agriculture, food preservation and transportation and also modern sewage processing among other factors.Actually it wouldn't be that crowded as you think, there are more people alive today than people dead, in other words, there are less than 8 billion dead people around the world from the start of man-kind, and if death wasnt real then the need to re-produce wouldnt be there, so population would actually be smaller
Yes reality denial is much worse for people and the planet. Not knowing what is real is quite likely - nearly certain - to end up as a head on high speed collision with reality.Another thing, over population isnt a problem with immortality, what does over population cause? Lets see. It causes lack of food. More green house gas emissions and more space needed to accommodate the people, space isnt really an issue as we dont need farms hospitals or any of that due to immortality, global warming wont harm us as a species at all really because of immortality. God messed up. Face it. Also why does god have to exist with a conscious? The whole christian religion is very close minded and yet you are accusing us of being close minded. Pathetic.
Actually the entire world population could be housed in Texas alone. We would of course need more land for farms and factories etc, but it does show that we aren't that overpopulated, we are just rather inefficient. My original statement boiled down to that if no one ever died the world would be more overpopulated but it wasn't meant to be read into that much and it wasn't a very strong argument or even my main point.
No one seems to account that with more people there are more brilliant scientists and it only takes a breakthrough idea from one to help solve world problems.
If we had nuclear fusion and inexpensive advanced robotics we could build farms 500 levels deep underground cheaply. In conjunction with advanced genetic research could make the square area available for farming thousands of times greater than it is today. With good technology there isn't much of a reason why earth couldn't support trillions - and probably with the same or less ecological damage as today. In fact the resulting intelligent people could bring so much good to the world in such a short time it would be in everyone's best interest to indeed have this many people.
