My 2 cents:

The ranger in the tank group (group 1) would be best with a dex/support build. I am currently more of a str/DPS build but will change for the fight if necessary. Are there any high level rangers out there already using spikes and entangle?

Freeze is 3 sec to cast, 15 sec hold, and another 5 sec cooldown. And it has pretty high evades. So at least 3 freezers, but more would be good.

Hopefully in the next couple of days we can get a few mages together and practice.

A side note, if we're going to be luring and freezing, I don't know if we can also boost druids. Druids you may be on your own. :?

Would suggest that I be placed in group 2 (dps group) as my sharpen weapons is 50/40 and due to my stat build it adds 143 dmg with DL quiver equipped (even higher with dex quiver), while also having the dps to get a kill on Hrung.
My feeling is that the ranger who's sharpen adds the most dmg should be in group 2 to get the most out of the skill.
That being said, will respec for the fight if I'd be more effective elsewhere. It's all about the good of the raid group.

@ rr
Believe there are no high lvl rangers that use entangle or spikes at this time.

Defensive spikes, really?

We have a tank being attacked by Mordris and some people getting hit by the occasional wyrm? Sentinals will be bolased and kited around right? If we're all spread around doing our own thing I highly doubt this downgraded cloak of fire will reach the group of people and actually have a good effect. Why haven't we been using this before I mean if it's good enough to kill end game bosses shouldn't it work wonders on other bosses? I don't believe it does hence why that skill has never been used...

Maybe we should invest some points in spring of life too, I hear that's pretty good

If someone can show me this skill in action on one of the trolls and show it's an effective and valuable skill then I'll agree but right now it seems like a huge waste of skill points.

Its not that its a great skill. Its just added damage. From what I was told, youre trying to get as much dmg as possible. No matter how cheap. The skill sets were suggestions. Thats why some of us have been practicing with them and trying different techniques. The only add that gets kited is the priestess if she respawns. Sentinels are to be killed ASAP.
From what Ive been told, Mordris will probably take 15 minutes to bring down. Since our server hasnt done it yet, we don't know what is actually good/bad waste/useful.

Btw I'm maxing Expose Weakness.

One other thing i would like to say that the contact that has killed several times stated: positioning is first importance, but next and key to killing mordris is max dps. I will either use a combo on my rogue or purchase max attk elixer.

Before fight, lets assign a group leader who understand implicitly the details of the positioning and tactic. All questions should be channeled through him/her priorto start.

I suggest that rand be over general of the battle and can answer any questions that the grp leaders have.

Also, please be patient prior to start. Remember our first few hrung kills? It toook as long to organize as it did to kill him. Come with having time to spare if possible. If we rush into this, it will set us closer to failure.

With all of the chests that have been opened, it shouldnt be too hard to lix up everyone. Lets do what it takes to get this done!!!!!

I will also alt prior to fight once i discuss with others in my class. my druid will be able to max heal, bark, light, vines, ward of fire, and can get 45 or higher on sanctuary, embrace, root, abundance, breath, all other wards. I will try to get ahold of other druids that plan to be there adn coordinate with them.

I will also do the same on rogue. I know i can get expose weeknes to near max, but will have to give up alot of dps to do so. Not sure if the trade off is worth it.

Lets band our Lugh Family together and take down the great red beast!!!!!!

Anyone that wants to practice, I will be on today and happy to work with you. just contact me in game.

Thanks to Angus and Oisin I was able to get my DL quiver. Considering the damage boost from the quiver I think I can be of most use in the secondary DPS group.

Re: Mordris

hello, I understand by this that mostly 2 tanks are needed, one full tank and one semi-full. therefore, i think will rebirth to dps and alt as well, since only 2 tanks are needed for this and we need as much dps as possible. but still, i'm not much into rebirthing every few days. therefore I would love to ask if we can keep doing these tests heavily for a while, to make most use of our new builds. Thank you.

Today after Hungry guy we did a test on Mordris…. Some valuable things were learned

First …. Thank you all for your efforts … all contributed and it is greatly appreciated. If she could be killed by shear heart and willpower you would have banished her forever.

We were able to kill sentinels, kill priestess, do damage to Mordy, kill adds as they respawned, pull and contain priestess upon respawn and damage Mordy to 3/4 health.
GREAT job all.

Some lessons learned:

No groups were set prior to test . reccomend that we get into groups at leystone, then go to mordris pit
Confusion on left/right, all references shold be Mordris' right (non priestess side) and Mordris' left (side that priestess is on)
only two druids (at start) Thank you BD for showing up and helping… grouping before will solve this
DPS not coordinated … again, no real group or assignments
No skills or buffs maximized.
no mage goup set .. Ade and crew did outstanding on pulling and containing her. (again with no groups or skills/buff … Awesome job)
Tank group did not have ranger or root druid
Tanks told to pull Mordris past her area … Exact position is now known .. same for position of druids.
Too many using taunt … ONLY the Tanks taunt .. then ranger entangles and druid (if a druid can root … great)
DPS needs to be level 185+ period.

It was hard for me to coordinate and heal and buff. With other druids I believe I can coordinate battle. If not, I recommend that virulent coordinate battle.
Confusion abounded at first, but all settled in and started pulling together … great job all!
Ade had the mages and priestess group … Please comment on what needs to be done are. I know that mages keep drawing aggro .. again proper group make up will resolve that.

All skills need to be used and near max… so reskilling for each class needs to be organized.

Group Communication…. each group should have a group leader coordinating that group at start.

*****NO ONE ATTACK MORDRIS until tank repositions Mordris, ranger entangles and Tank or Coordinator says attack or go.

A possible solution to Communications issues would be to create a raid or MORDRIS clan, all participants in battle leave their clan, join raid/MODRIS clan for battle, then return to their own clan. Just food for thought as comms between where tank is and mages is too far for yellow chat.

Again, Thank you all

looking at 1800 eastern standard time Friday, 3 Jan 2014 for raid.
