All Did an AWESOME job last night, Congradulations and again, THANK YOU all.
Very good things occurred, and some things can be improved.
Make sure all understand the plan and what to do - IMHO it took to long to organize and review plan, I assumed all had read and knew jobs/responsiblities. That was definatly my fault.
This was first kill, so base plan is now known and we can adjust.
Planning:
Base plan was followed and worked. When groups were first formed we did not have enough rangers so we proceeded without, some showed up and greatly assisted in kill. Plan calls for Ranger in each group to help augment group with buffs toward that group.
Reccommend a group leader for each group, they can assemble group and then report ready to the battle coordinator. Also each group leader should be familar with plan and positioning of group to help any who have not fought her.
Rally point of Snorri pit was (in my opinion) much better than at key that was my original plan. I think this should be the place to assemble.
Tank Group (Group 1) druids did a great job of healing and buffing tank, I only saw calla die once just before rage due to mordy getting loose, which brings us to Taunt.
Taunt during Mordris should only be used by the Tank. Mordy broke free a few times and I am not exaclly sure why, either someone taunted or aggro from dos or mages. Tank must have taunt at 50 and NO ONE else taunt during battle.
Recommend less druids in tank group next time (will keep at 4) and spread other druids around. Breath was very effective spell. I still would like to keep a ranger in this group to entangle, spike tank and back-up heal
DPS Rogue Group (Group 2) This was the kill group, GRATZ! All need to be dps build to maximize damage and skills shared to maximize effectiveness, Ranger in this group for sharpen wraps.
Please comment on recommendations for improvement.
DPS Warrior group (Group 3) All need to be DPS build.
Please comment on recommendations for improvement
Mage Group (Group 4) This is the key group to our success. Mages froze priestess and contained her while still luring Mordris. Shield bash did not work well on priestess.
Recommend ranger in or next to this group to pull priestess away from Mordris.
Please comment on recommendtions for improvement
Many 180-184 showed up, they killed the wyrms, and adds very nicely. Thank-you all.
Recommend a 5th group of 180-184 to address the trolls and wyrms. If decided that they can join.
Ranger needs to start the battle by pulling first sentinel.
This was a great accomplishment for our server, and you all should be very proud. The Only nondominate clan server to defeat Mordris!
Cross clan communications needs to be better/improved.
Recommend and meeting of clan reps prior to next battle to coordinate efforts
Dicing
Designating DM prior to fight helped greatly as well as dicing spot. next battle meetiing of clan reps will determine next DM.
Drops.
Mordris drops have level restrictions on some. In my opinion, a level 185 item in a 180's bag does no good, they cannot use it, and it may take months for them to level.
I think we need to place a level caveat on dicing for Mordris drops. Wether it be at level of item to be elegible to dice or one level below item to dice, whatever, we need to discuss this and make a decision before next battle. If no decision is made by then, I recommend that the DM has final decision on this point until a consensus is made.
Battle coordinator
Someone needs to be in charge to direct things. This battle went smooth for the most part, that may not happen the next time.
I recommend that a battle coordinator be designated for each battle until we all get it down pat.
And a very BIG THANK YOU for those that showed up and supported. Too many to list, and I do not want to leave anyone out … you know who your are, I salute you all!
Looking foward to the next one ppl.
Thank you all
Randall
PS
The decision to exclude those below 185 - This upset a lot of ppl I know, but was based on amount of damage a 185 can do versus a 180, combined with the logistics of having many ppl possibly in the way of mages targeting mordris. As of right now, I recommend that Mordris battles be limited to DPS 185 and higher, mages and druids 180. Now, I am not the only voice in this, so please lets talk about this without emotion and come to a server consensus.

Re: Mordris Lessons Learned
#2Very nice rand. I would say that from my perspective shield bash did help when freeze missed. I am not sure why a ranger should be the one to pull priestess. It seems to me that a warrior with 50/40 taunt would be best for this. We had 2 warriors in the group. I think we can suffice with one warrior. In the next fight Kemaz could have that spot. I would suggest that this warrior be toward the lower range of warriors we have, to free up more dps for mordris. All in all, the fight went very well from my perspective. But, when the priestess respawned some people jumped on her besides the warrior that was desigated to pull her out. This pulled her right into mordris. Thankfully everyone managed to contain her, but I would like to stress that NO ONE attacks the preistess after she respawns. Even if she spawns on top of you and kills you do not attack her.

#3Just thought you should know the troll opposite where calla was standing to Mordris didnt aggro when she called for help. Possible to avoid killing one troll when he respawns. Might make it quicker.

Re: Mordris Lessons Learned
#4I think in future we need to make lvl req 180 BUT also only allow dicing for drops if you are within 1 of the lvl req. so a lvl 180 cant roll for a 185+ drop. The only exception would be if there is no one else from the class eligible to roll.
This will endure drops will get used. Also, most drops will be 180 anyway.
Dm decides any ambiguities.

Re: Mordris Lessons Learned
#5A ranger is best pulling priestess because she roots. a ranger can easily pull her far enough away without being rooted where as a warrior runs up taunts and is immediately rooted therefore not pulling priestess far enough away.Very nice rand. it's better to just kill because mords and priestess call for help and when they do sents will run right for druids.... not good.
Re: Mordris Lessons Learned
#7Yes Ak i agree as do a few others. Limit lvl to roll and we shouldnt have an issue adding more people to groups now. It was important to get the technique down. Now that weve done it and hopefully many understand it we can coordinate that many more people.
Re: Mordris Lessons Learned
#8One suggestion about drops....the group that gets kill should have the leader possibly take screen shot of drops. Little scary not knowing what happened to drops after the fact.
