true if u maxed pummel it helps with gear for lvl 160+ but luckily i have dlord gloves royal pummel and grand pummel which makes my pummel 49/35 and i also use giant swing bcz i have royal GS 40/35 both skills do around 1.5 to 3k dmg on mobs i lix at

Yilley seems to have found the same as myself, that to make pummle worth using requires too much specific gear. If i equip a damage ring that adds the same damage to all my skills and more importantly my auto. This means my pummle is weaker than auto, and any pummle gear i add could be better served with an item to help a stronger skill.
This may reverse when I get a shield and become a tank as my auto will drop and pummle will stay the same (as wepons not counted to pummle)

u could mix both melee and pummel gear.

Not true at all, you dont need lots of pummel gear to get a good pummel hit. I have absolutely no pummel gear besides my dl gloves, i dont own any other pummel gear for that matter but my pummel hits around 1.6 k - 2.4 without shatter. The thing is i only started using pummel since i got to lvl 130 but since then its been an amazing skill. If it were up to me i would choose pummel any day compared to giant swing but i highly suggest you max it as it is at its peak when maxed unlike giant swing which doesnt really need to be maxed.

even at lower levels 140-159 it can be good just max it use anc beast gloves if possible get a pummel charm from the summer dragon. I used a +8 pummel aggy ring aswell with 3 other royal dmg rings. My pummel would hit 2k-2.2k lowest 1.8k dmg it also increases with strength i believe.

It's ultimately your choice. I sometimes use pummel and giant swings maxed out. Maybe a waste of gold and alt books, but better to try things out. Gd luck.
