I think most people, myself included, left only because no one was logging in anymore, and it was dead silent. Silence had Fallen, if there are any Whovians reading this. But good luck Q!
I think you left because of that, but i don't think the rest of the clan leave for that...
Them was such a beautiful clan.
+1 to tauri. And thats not the whole story. Them was indeed beautiful, Qs little porcelain doll.
Dear Mr. Legendezz,
I really appreciate your mind reading. I know you are a very busy man but if you could spare some time to meet with few of us and listen to our story? Please join us for afternoon tea.
Have a good day!
Sincerely,

I won't stalk you, I promise hehehe
Well if I really think about it, and I have, there are too many reasons to single out just one why the certain little exodus happened. In the beginning, before i left briefly, there was dissension and drama, that started it. I thought it was petty but I was wrong. It blew up in just a few days. a few folks, some new to the clan and some old decided to leave at this time. No doubt there were those who had their sights set elsewhere for a long time others who just got tired of waiting to kill a dragon. I understand.
Then a trusted friend had pulled one over on me (or so it seemed) and demoted me and was apparently unilaterally deciding to steer the clan towards a tack that benefitted those who bickered the most. The clan, albeit briefly, was not the nice place I had envisioned. I had 2 options: Initiate a coup and knock out the individual who demoted me or take a walk and cool off. I am not vindictive so I took a breather. When I left it was personal. Why everyone started defecting after that is their on them. Yes, some left because they wanted more. Some got tired of the drama. Some just wanted to stick with a particular friend. Others got lonely once a handful of people left. It is what it is.
I worked out my differences with the individual who demoted me within 5 days and came back. I never joined another clan, I just went solo for a bit. I was devastated to see how many people so willingly dumped 9 months of hard work and joy over what boils down to about a week or so of upheaval. It hurts my heart to see them gone but I hope for their happiness. Such is life. It is just a game.
One thing really struck me when Clan them's expatriates largely chose one clan over others and it was how often players asked me "So, have you sold your soul to ____ yet?" It was this question that really struck a chord. It always had a negative connotation. Not once has anyone ever said "So, have you sold your soul to Them yet?" That makes me proud. Clan them churns out good people and a good vibe. I had no choice but to come back and take up the wheel again. That said, I hope the expats bring 100% of the spirit of Clan them with them to the clans they chose and help them tone down some of that negative stuff (like players who kill players in the arena for fun while the chief watches).
Clan them remains the "beautiful" clan it always was despite the migrant clannies. I would rather play the game alone than become some anonymous snorri camper in an end game clan…but that's just me. Glory means nothing in a game where everyone is anonymous. I just don't think that is as fun as training up a few new folks and inspiring a love of the game in fresh faces and new friends. That is what everyone knows Clan them for and that's what it shall continue to be.
Being the best clan on the server is not our goal, being the best people is.
Wish me luck!
