Re: Mordris: Vote on level requirements and dicing rules

I intended this post to be a place to vote on aspects of Mordris fights so let's return to voting.

It is fine if you feel the need to give a brief rationale for your vote but it isn't necessary. If you choose to write something please keep it civil and remember we were only able to defeat Mordris the first time because of cooperation and a fair amount of luck.

It looks like we are all pretty much in agreement on 3 of the 4 points.
1-180 req for melee
2-180 req for casters
3-On this third point there does not seem to be a consensus. A significant portion of the players think that all players at the fight should roll for items, no matter what the level requirement is. Another significant portion of the players would like all the players to be allowed to roll for items no matter what the level requirement, with the caveat that only 188+ players would be allowed to roll for drops with a 190 requirement. The rationale behind this caveat was that it takes an extremely large amount of time to level from 180-190, top tier items are very rare, and those players that have spent their time and elixirs getting to 190 so that we can kill Mordris and deserve some sort of a reward. (It is also thought that this would motivate players to level to 190, which would make future kills much easier)
4-Have to be in the groups/organization before the fight to roll.

I hope I have managed to successfully sum up the thoughts that have been posted so far. Please post your opinion. We need to reach a consensus before this afternoon if we are going to kill Mordris.

Yes you have. Thank you for your effort. Please Note: with the 180 lvl req to join we will continue to try and increase the amount of groups and include more and more people as we get better at coordinating the fight and winning it. Today is only the second fight. If we win we will try to add more groups next time and so forth until it becomes like clockwork for everyone. The boss lock will remain with first Sentinel pulled. this is the point everyone needs to have their role and execute. At a later date we may change this. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and your patience as we try to perfect this fight and hopefully make it a regular takedown.

Vote Tally

First Vote: Level Requirement for DPS classes
1) 180 -- 9 votes
2) 185 -- 4 votes
3) 190 -- 0 votes

Abstentions -- 4

Summary: 9/4 majority in favor of a level 180 level requirement for DPS classes.

Note: I counted Virulent's vote as option 2 but I think "as needed" was intended to include DPS below 185 if needed for a fight. Feel free to correct me on this if I missed the mark on that one.

Second Vote: Level Requirement for casters
1) 180 -- 17 votes
2) 185 -- 0 votes
3) 190 -- 0 votes

Summary: Unanimous vote for 180 level requirement for casters.

Third Vote: Dicing rules
1) Unrestricted. If you are included in the fight you are eligible to dice. -- 10 votes
2) Must be within 2 levels of the level requirement for the item. -- 0 votes
3) Must be at or above the level requirement for the item. -- 0 votes
4) Only items with a level 190 requirement are restricted. Only Level 188 and above may dice for these items. -- 7 votes

Summary: 10-7 majority in favor of option 1.

Fourth Vote: When to include someone in the fight and dicing.
1) Must be present at the beginning of the fight and grouped. Pulling the first Sentinel marks the beginning of the fight. -- 15 votes
2) Must arrive before lock and be grouped -- 0 votes
3) Must arrive before lock and announce -- 2 votes

Summary: 15-2 majority in favor of option 1

Overall Summary: The level requirement is 180 for both DPS and casters and you must be present at the beginning of the fight and grouped to dice. While the vote on dicing was close (10-7), the majority was in favor of dicing without level restrictions.

It saddens me to report that these votes were ignored. I expected better of Lugh but greed won. This is a very disappointing change in our server that I hope we can remedy in the future.
Yep it's quite funny how a person who likes to create rules and make a big fuss of dicing, disregards it all when it applies to her.

I think we need to respect the process. If some 190+ want to boycott, as was threatened, then that too is their choice. The rest can decide if they can do it, or choose to include them on their conditions. I dont like unilaterally deciding at the time of battle that we will ignore the vote.

For dl quests, we tried to optimize so ppl could get outfitted without spending a fortune. For end game bosses, we have done some minor tweaks so that most drops go to proper class. We should not be trying to optimize beyond that. That lvl of micromanagement is best left to clans - collections of ppl with similar philosophy.

There is nothing wrong with getting a great drop, even one you may not use. It is ok to loan, sell, or save. If i based my participation only on whether i would use a drop, I would just quit now, since there is basically nothing more for me. It would hardly be worth my time or money to kill hrung on the rare chance it will drop the one godly brace or ring i would use.

In short, we want to simply create fair, sensible, consistent, and agreed upon rules for drop dicing. What happens after the drops are won, should not concern us. As far as i am concerned, i show up on time, i fight, and i dice for what i can.
