ok im level 140 and i maxed sharp shot at 30/30 i have 400 dex and the beastbone hands which gives sharp shot dmg

the problem is my sharp shot rarely goes above my auto

my dmg is 700 and i usually hit 500 or 400

am i doing something wrong or should i just drop it

Sharpshot is dexterity based
You're probably more strengh builded
If you like this build i sugest to drop sharp and max rapid shot instead

At lvl 111 with 300 dex 250 vit and rest in STR, I am quickly approaching the point where I can see Sharp Shot getting dropped for either Rapid, Steady or perhaps Bolas.

Currently:

25+/25 Sharpen
25/25 Sharp Shot
25/25 Double Shot
25/25 Light Heal
25/25 Entangle

The more strength I get with each level, the more apt I am to drop SS for greater auto damage. Leveling with Skill damage only is effective until that sharpshot damage doesn't quite measure up. Longshot is a one hit maybe when you don't use bolas, so it seems to me like 120+ might be more focused on auto damage.

Is this a typical trend for a mix build dex/str? Anyone else in this same boat?

Entangle is worthless now. Drop it

If entangle was worthless I wouldn't be using it. It speeds up my solo leveling by an incredible amount. It allows me to solo a lot of bosses I would otherwise be unable to solo and it is super effective in PvP. It also saves a boatload on restos.

I find those who usually knock entangle either use bolas or have never used it before. Without bolas, entangle works for soloing.

The question here is not about entangle though, its about sharpshot:

Is it typical for a mix build of str/dex to drop sharp shot at some point for more reliable damage solutions?

I like sharpshot because it is quick dps. It's instacast and for me my sharpshot hits at 600+ damage even though I am much lower lvl than you guys. I would say sharpshot is only good for a full dex build type. I'm running a dex build, and I have a 100 str base and nothing more.

Also, entangle does suck. You'll be better off putting it somewhere else.

Yea drop it, probably the worst "dps" skil. It wouldn't even do double the damage if you were pure dex

Agree bout sharpshot. Don't agree with entangle.

To each their own. I use it because it lowers mob dps. Between that and my monster light heal i was able to get away with having a low vit. And in turn use more points for dex.
