Re: Question about new engine testing

Hi there, that was me talking to you ingame. There will be several rounds of beta testing, right now it's a private beta where you have to apply as a tester, but later will be opening up to a public beta which everyone can join in.
Lets be a little bit more specific. It's open beta for android we are talking about here right?
Apple does not allow many devices as beta.

So Admin was spotted in Belenus wearing some plate armour, with a bajillion hp and hitting 900s on me with a tempered sword (sorcery!! ) but no necro weapon teasers!! Come oooooooonnnn you're killin' me here .... Show us the goodies

But aaaanyway... I asked you (admin) a question but lost connection before you answered. You mentioned beta testing for the new engine soon, and I was wondering if it would be tested purely by OTM employees, or if there will be selected player testers?
It cant be a beta test unless it involves people not originally associated with the making of the product, if it is localised testing within the manufacturing team it is called an alpha test. So in short. Yes. It will include random people.

ACTUALLY....

iOS can run beta's out of the hands of apple through a site called www.testflightapp.com

Only thing is it doesn't support in app purchases... butt I am currently in beta for a game in iOS with that system (which also supports android).

All you need to do is register your device, apply for a beta (such as if OTM wants to run one, you can apply to know when it'll be available), and install it once the developers download the updated version.

I don't know restrictions to size and such... BUT iOS can run betas! This is just the only way I've seen it happen (they can also contact apple to allow some users to download a specific update but that would take weeks more than likely).

Not trying to do propaganda, it's just an FYI post :)

I didn't ment to say IOS can't have beta's. I have been beta tester twice myself already. But since the Admin spoke about an opa beta (which means everybody can join) I wanted to note that this is for Android.

The IOS beta only allowes OTM to register around 100 devices I believe so they are limited. Android is therefore much easier with beta testing.
