Barbie Games (Tournament Entry)

#1
Hi everyone, I am here to announce the first ever Barbie Games or BG for short. The Barbie Games is a tournament or league that has brings the best of the best to the arena for organized games, prizes, fun, and overall a good piece of entertainment that is fun for everyone to participate in. Each BG event has special rules and regulations to make them challenging and fair for all participants. The rules will be very elaborate and strictly enforced to ensure fair play, good sportsmanship, and a positive atmosphere.

By this being the first ever BG on Herne, it will not be held on a grand scale, but as time goes on, the BG will begin to offer more spaces for participants and bigger and better prizes. So basically, based on how this event goes will decide if it will happen again or have better prizes for the future.
Without further ado, I will now get into the good part, the set up and rules of the Barbie Games.

Prizes: TBA

Setup: There will be 12 teams consisting of 3 players each. Each team will be composed of three different classes (i.e. Mage, warrior, druid, etc.). After the teams are selected, they will randomly be submitted into a program and put against another team for a best of 5 or 7. There will be a winner’s bracket and a loser’s bracket where the final match will be between the winners of each bracket to determine the overall winner of the tournament. It will be double elimination for the first match with single elimination following afterwards. Prizes will be distributed when all matches are completed and the tournament comes to an end.

Rules:
Captain- Each team will select a member to be the team captain. The team captain is to make sure the team meets all rules and regulations before registration and before and during their respective matches. The team captain will also relay information from the proctors of the tournament to their respective teams and be the voice of any concerns that they have or may experience. Captains will also have to communicate with other captains to set up game times and then both captains must mail the head proctor for their match and confirm the time and the time zone in which the time will be played. All times will be recorded next to team names on the bracket for any audience to attend and watch. It will be best to set up a time as early as possible as there will not be any overlapping of times as it will interfere with matches. It also allows for you to postpone matches, if you need to.

Team Setup- No alts are allowed to be used on a team unless it will be the primary participant in the tournament. So that means that no one is allowed to dual device in the tournament or is allowed to hold two entry spots at the same time. No sharing of accounts will be permitted as this is against the ToA and is against the rules of the game itself.

As mentioned before, each team needs to be made up of 3 different classes. NO TWO CLASSES, OF THE SAME TEAM, CAN BE IN THE ARENA AT THE SAME TIME!!! This is to prevent teams such as 3 rogues, 3 mages, or 3 warriors being on the same team and creating an unfair balance in gameplay. This is also to create a more competitive atmosphere and make it fun building a team and a strategy to compete against others with. Each team is allowed an alternate to be added to the lineup. The alternate can be of any class, but will not be able to enter a match if another class of the same is already in the lineup.

Registration- Once you have decided on a team please use the following format:
Team Name:
Team Captain:
Team Members:

All names listed on the lineup, must be spelled the same way they are spelled in the game. This is to prevent people from sneaking in alternate accounts and gives a fair and equal opportunity to everyone who participates. Once your application has been accepted, it will be viewed by the proctors and the team captain will be messaged and told if something needs to be changed (like an alternate account was noticed in the lineup, etc.) or if you are clear to start forming strategies to prepare for your match up.

Proctors: There will be 10 proctors and 2 alternate proctors. Proctors will be chosen based on trust throughout the server of Herne. They are to keep a fair head and be an unbiased judge for both teams. For each match there will be at least two present to make sure all rules are held to the highest standards. They will direct the countdown for the fights and call any foul play that they see. Proctors are also to KoS (kill on sight) any outside fair play or anyone interring with a match. If it looks as if a team is trying to purposely interrupt a fight for a certain team, that team will be disqualified based on the proctor’s discretion. Proctors will also be allowed to partake in the tournament as well, but will not be able to proctor their own match.

Match Rules- These will be the rules for the teams who are in the arena for a match.
-All matches will be best of 5 (the semi-final and final, best of 7).
-Once you are defeated in the arena, you must return to ley and wait until the match is over before entering the arena again.
-No idols are to be used. Anyone who uses an idol will disqualify their team from that round (not the match). The only way to avoid this is if both captains decide to replay the round.
-There will be a 2 minute recess between each round for teams to discuss any strategy for the next round.
-Taunting is allowed, but excessive or violent taunting will not be tolerated. Any team caught in excessive or violent talking, will be disqualified from the round at the proctor’s discretion.
-NO LIXIRS ARE TO BE USED FOR ANY MATCHES! Any lixirs used before a round (7 minutes or more left on timer) will be disqualified from the MATCH! Any player with time left on lixir will have to be replaced by an alternate if time isn’t up before the match start.
-No outside buffs are allowed. You cannot be buffed by someone, other than a teammate, before entering the arena or a match. Any buffs on with a timer of 2 minutes or more will require a replacement of an alternate, if it isn’t done before the start of the match.
-No mounts! No mounts are to be used for additional speed, regen, or stylish effects.
-Weapon and gear changes are allowed. You are allowed to switch weapons and gear before and during a match. What you do in the two minutes between rounds, are up to you, but make sure that you still follow all rules.
-Have fun! This is the first, big, organized tournament. Why not have fun and enjoy the game with your peers.

Once all matches are done, the next round will start immediately!

Emergencies-If you need to postpone a match, you will be given 24 hours to set up a new time within 48 hours of the date and time you have originally given. If the original time falls on the last day of the time period for matches to be done, your team will forfeit the match. When an agreement is met, between two captains, one of the captains are to post on this thread and message a proctor, the new date and time. BE READY TO PROVIDE SCREENSHOTS OF YOU MESSAGING A PROCTOR AND YOUR FINAL AGREEMENT OF THE NEW DATE AND TIME!!!

Audience- If you are watching a fight, you are only allowed up to the part in the arena where you cannot be targeted. Any further, you will be a target for KoS or, if you are in the tournament, a penalty for your team. So that means come early for the best seats.

Bets- Yes, there will be bets taken on each and every match. Use this format when placing bets.
Name: (same as it is spelled ingame)
Amount: (25000 max)
Bet: (Herne Rocks vs Awesome Barbie (3-2 in Herne rocks favor))

Once submitted, you will see your bet on a spreadsheet that will be shown on this page. Once you see that you bet has been tallied, you will be mailed on the forums as well as on the games of what the name of the account will be. From there, you will simply reply and send your gold in. ONCE A BET IS PLACED, YOU CANNOT RECEIVE THE MONEY BACK! The account, you send the money, will not have any “i”, “l”(L), “1”, “o”(letter), or “0” (zero) so there will be no way to duplicate the account and scam. A screenshot will be taken of the exchange as proof of the amount given and to make sure no problems arise. ALL PAYOUTS WILL HAPPEN AT THE END OF ALL MATCHES! So at the end of round 1, you will receive a payout, end of round 2 you will receive a payout. At every payout, another screenshot will be taken for our records as proof of the correct payout. PARTICIPANTS ARE ALLOWED TO PLACE BETS ON THEIR MATCHES AND OTHERS AS WELL.

At the end of the Tournament any gold left over will be subtracted 20% and distributed evenly among the proctors of the tournament. The other 80% will be distributed evenly among the two finalist teams and added to their respective prizes.

Bet multipliers- All bets will be either x1.5 or x3. If you call a match correctly, you will receive x3 your gold back. If you only get 1 score correctly, you will get x1.5 back.

I.e. Herne Rocks vs Awesome Barbie (3-2 in Herne rocks favor)
Actual Score: 3-0 Herne Rocks favor
Bet: 25000
Payout: 37500
I.e. Herne Rocks vs Awesome Barbie (3-2 in Herne rocks favor)
Actual Score: 3-2 Herne Rocks favor
Bet: 25000
Payout: 75000

Final comments and Notes- I want to thank everyone who signs up for this tournament and I wish everyone the best of luck. I also want to say that armor makes up a small fraction of what it will take to win this tournament. The true test comes from your rings, amulets, bracelet, and most importantly your skills and stat spread. This won’t be your regular pvp fight as you have a team to work with and you aren’t going against one class. I made sure there won’t be any bad match ups, team wise, so everyone has a fair chance of going for the number one spot. May the best team win!

Have you ever noticed that when people like something, they don't tell anyone, but when they hate something, they tell everyone?
