And I completely agree with SirBlaze, Mages should take the #2 spot.

But to everyone saying that mages should be better DPS.. Answer me this.. If Mages were to be given better DPS than rogues.. What would be the point in rogues??? It would kill off that class.

I totally agree with your rhetorical question; rogues are supposed to be pure dps
So what is the point of a Mage a rogue can do sustained dps without taking aggro because if they pull it they distract and pass it on
A Mage ? Support class you say? Anyone here use a char with herioc neccy and run out of mana?
Energy boost and well r in high demand arnt they an have been since dustwither days

I didn't mean 'support' as in "Mages should be a support class"
I just thanked BLRD-7 for his support on the topic. Mages should be one of the top DPS in my opinion (#2), but not number one (#1).

If Cloak of Fire isn't a support skill, what the hell is!?!?

If mages do the same damage as Rogues, but have Cloak of Fire on top of that (can hit 100+ per tick) then Mages will be a far better class than Rogues.

Read what I'm saying.

Mages CAN be used for other things that arn't just DPS. They can support with Cloak of Fire, and they can Tank the Wisp bosses. Rogues can not, and they can't support anything. Also, I see most (not all) of the people that are commenting about mages need to be greater DPSers, saying its not fair warriors have 2 roles, they can tank and DPS, they need to be changed on other posts. This is exactly what your wanting a Mage to be able to do.. Why?? .. Because you have them!

Although this topics question has been changed completely into a debate, it is a good question and I'd also like to know the answer. Might even build myself up a Mage :)

Also tired of saying the same s**t over and over again without people reading properly before they post lol, I'm out :p

Also @Aengus.. Stats DO affect skills hits. But only Melee skills.

The more Strength a toon has, the higher MELEE Skills hit damage it can do.. Simple as that. (if you don't believe me try it yourself).

Which just made me think of another pointer.. Mages don't need strength to hit high with skills hits. Rogues do..

I'm sure if I took 200 points off my Strength and put them into Vitality so I could possibly tank wisp bosses like mages, my sneaky damage wouldn't do any higher than 1K. Only problem being, if I was then to tank, I couldn't use my sneaky attack because I would have aggro. Leaving me to hit probably less than 50 per hit on a wisp boss because there resistance to rogues melee hits for some reason is incredible.

Also about the using distract when I take aggro on my rogue.. By then it's to late. If I take aggro on any of the big bosses, they 1 hit me. If I don't have any idols, I have to run back from leystone. Now if there's more than 1 clan going for the same boss, this could be the difference between winning and losing a boss fight.

Mage shall no 1 in dps.....balanced with the speed of cast (SLOW).
mage shall gain higher point from focus, just like vit (drain energy, more dps)..
mage shall then gain highest dmg by mobs, balanced with the cloak n armor availability.
Energy shield,.....F,,kk.... as without energy, not being called mage, call Disable.
Mage (A MAGICIAN), shall then has ability to cast "MAGIC PROTECTION"
Mage shall has more shooting magic (ONLY TWO now, maybe remain next update, wt..f)

Other classes, no comment as it has many choice of weapon, speed armor, upgraded weapon, special attach armor, etc...
(WAT ABOUT MAGE???)

Cloak of fire is the mages equivelent of melee wands hit like girls so without cloak a Mage is pretty much useless as for mages tanking pfft
Any class that is all vit will make a better tank than a Mage as they all have more armour
And rogues out damage mages look at the high score tables
People say that's because they r all str when hitting that maybe so but most rogues r nearly all str anyway so they will still out hit mages
Most rangers out dps a Mage too as rapid shot and a decent bow is hitting same as or more than my fireball and they do it much faster about 4 times faster
And do you know anyone that has needed energy boost or well since update 1
The fact is mages r a dead class
They can't dps
They can't support
They can't tank
You say cast cloak on tank well any other melee char in group will do more damage than cloak ever will
Might as well mention it since I started energy shield give up 10 skill points and gain 600 extra hp that's if you stay all vit build or go energy and lose about a third of your hp really good skill that is and if you do decide to cast it you r left unable to defend yourself as all your mana is taken by hits so you can't cast any spells you just have to hope cloak works well enough for you to kill that mob before your 600 extra hp r gone
