Re: A weird question

Because the market would go crazy . This happened with frozen armor. prices skyrocketed, PPL argued, and gold controlled all.

It has been voted on by Lugh numerous times to NOT sell dl items.
AZZSAVER (DRUID 183+), SNEAKYAZZ (ROGUE 183+), BADAZZ (WARRIOR 144+)retired, MADMAC (RANGER 83)retarded lol

At this point, with all the hoarding and stuff going on, i wouldn't be opposed to considering it. Yes, the market would explode but eventually itll level out. Some people are sick and tired of having to spend their time online praying for a Snorri 6 to pop and then pray some more that their color drops then hope they roll high. The amount of competition for drops has increased significantly too. The original purpose was to gear the high lvls so we could defeat Mordris one day... We've done that several times now. Just a thought.

Vir brings up a good point. At this point into the game, all the current rule does is make legitimize hoarding, when in reality, given the current rules, hoarding should be frowned upon. With the current rules that were established, people should be loaning their drops out so that others can get their DL items. That obviously is not the case now-a-days...Now, people are hoarding for alts or clan alts. Some may say, "it is your drop, you can do what you want with it." But, in voting, did we not also agree to loan DL drops for others? (seriously though, I don't feel like going back and reading all those posts, so, I'm going off of what I thought I remember reading about the votes ;) ). If this is the case about the voting that took place, how is everyone able to get away with hoarding, but we are still not allowed to sell? How come one part of the agreement is still in effect, and not the other?

Anyway, I hope this came out right...I'm trying to gather my thoughts while I have three kids running and screaming around me :D :D :D

The advantage of getting DL drops will always be to those that can camp and be at the boss fights. Lugh has been blessed by haveing a dicing system to help even things out, and for the most part it works very well.
If we open up the selling of DL items how much would a purple crown sell for? My guess at an auction today 5mil+. Advantage rich players, and those that can camp DL bosses.
Clans with multi high levels obviously fair better than clans without, but look at the few clans that the only high level has full DL. How did that happen?. It happened by others helping them out. Those ppl were/are at boss fights, and the ask for help (note: not bugg ppl to death). A 190 warrior just got full DL from a loan of last item needed from a player in a different clan.
As far as hoarding DL items …. not really sure what you mean, I see plenty of ppl helping other ppl across clans even to get ppl geared, I have a blue idol that I have tried to give away to no avail …. am I hoarding? The perception is out there about hoarding, yes some ppl may have a few DL items collecting dust, we can never change that, however, we can hopefully influence they way we interact between clans and boss fights.
NO system is perfect, but please take a step back and look at all options without making assumptions or accusations.
As far as high levels getting geared first, that was the original intent, but as DL items became more available, the elegibilty pool grew (and still is growing). OTM has decided that the present drop rate of Crowns and Horns is what they want, so that will not change. PPL are starting to get frustrated at the constant camping and lack of high end drops.
I do not have the answer to resolve the DL issue. I can only post what I believe to be what is IMHO right.
(for the record ….. I think that ALL drops should be free :) ……)
Happy Hunting ALL!

uhh, 5mil seems a bit odd. i dont think really anyone in lugh has that much let alone would pay that for one crown.

prices would be high at first but even out. you would still have some crazy people paying more of course, but prices generally would decline over time.

5 mil-1mil …. you get the point (and many have that much). Prices would be outrageous and favour those with money. Certain ppl are shouting tonight about 2 mil ea for red crowns.. Yes eventually prices would come down.
But if the only reason to start selling DL items is so that they become available …. that speaks to the greed of those that are only holding them so that they can sell.
True …. what a person does with a drop is their business, I just dont agree with holding onto something that others need.
And just to let all know. A crown was loaned and another got DL offhand. The present system is working, just not as fast as we want it to.
Yes, some classes are tighter than others too:)
The other fact is that after all alleged hoarded items get bought/sold and get placed into economy …. we are still in the same prediciment of camping.. only difference would be that drops would be sold to the highest bidder …. favouring those with money, and virtually eliminating the possibility of the non/limited plat player from getting a fair shot.

IMO DL drops being sold would even the playing field...

The current way only allows luck to be the deciding factor if you get your needed DL items. Well, luck and good friends. There are few people out there who still loan items out, but those people are few and far between now-a-days.

I believe that the acceptance of selling DL items would be greatly beneficial to those who have camped for months upon months waiting for an opportunity to even see a purp or red drop, then when it finally does, a brand spanking new 170 shows up, rolls on a purp or red crown, and wins! No one is forcing anyone to buy the items, just should be another option to get your items if need be...imo.

Of course all would be gravy if everyone was generous and didn't hoard, but unfortunately, that is not the world (or server) we live in. smh

Well, its worth considering and chatting about atleast. Maybe we can get those dust collecting items out into the hands of ppl who need them. Yes, above all in Lugh, purple crowns would be ridiculous! But eventually it would level out and then we have the bosses. Instead of me only being able to roll on purples, I could roll all colors. Just like OW bosses. More than 1 group we roll. I could help my clan more with a larger variety of items. Its worth an argument and probably a new topic.
