Gearing by priority (DL)

#1
Whatever happened of the talk at the beginning of update 4 release when prioritize dl gearing by greatest need. i propose we create a list of character lvls and dl items they need and gear by priority this would be both more efficient and more equal (also make note of # of dl bosses they attended each month) in order to determine who deserves the items and who just uber lvled and expected to be handed dl.
Server: LUGH
Damnstraight lvl 223 Rogue (main)
Lyanna lvl 195 Mage
GlowInTheBow lvl 162 Ranger
Glowstaff Druid (currently levelling)

Name for any necessary reasons in signature no need to ask for me to add to post (just read signature :/ )

Not going to work, nobody would like to take co-operation to that level. I'm a living example, been 5 months since I got full dl and I don't have my weapon yet. It's fun seeing myself get kills over people who do have it though :)

that type of coordination belongs at the clan level, not at the server level. We should be thankful we have a consistent and fair way to dice multi-grp bosses so that even a non-aligned high level character still has a chance at DL stuff.

i agree with you, however i think it will be difficult to implement. ive seen so many people who are just handed dragonlord without doing any work. Then i also know people that camp the bosses everyday, only to get nothing. it seems the first group of dragonlord holders had to work for their gear than somewhere on the line it became a good idea to give handouts to the lower level toons despite some 180s-190s missing armor pieces and weapons. it astonishes me when i see people get the armor piece the second they are eligible for the quest, then they laugh about how they dont have to do any work for it. i do think that Vulture should have the weapon over some of the other players that get the handouts.

the simple fact is that when you give free dragonlord gear to the level 150s-170s without prioritizing the drops, you take a huge risk of wasting those drops. what i mean is that those level 150s-170s who just recently power leveled to that level have a greater risk of quitting. only the highest players are the least risky because they have more to lose if they quit. its astonishing that no one seems to understand this. ive read the old dragonlord posts and the intentions seemed good, and aimed toward gearing up the highest levels first. i wonder when this was all changed?

now that i ranted, heres my opinion on what to do. i dont want anyone to think i have a problem with everyone getting a chance at drops. i dont. what i do think is a problem is the laziness of certain players and the clans who let this happen. no one should say they dont camp the bosses and have the full set  everyone should be responsible for his or her own dragonlord. these players should see the amount of work that goes to fighting these bosses and hopefully gain a new perspective.

why someone chooses chooses to give a DL item to one person over another will never be known. I suppose if you have many friends and are generous, then people are more likely to help you. as an early DL player, i got lots of spare drops and have given most away (or loaned them at least) - and in return, i have gotten many pieces (as gifts or loans).

80% of the issue is warriors and rogues getting crowns with 15% of the issue being other red and purple items. Druids, mages, and rangers shouldnt have too much trouble getting gems, eggs, and urns (and possibly even a few idols).

maybe the rogues of lugh or the warriors of lugh should create an informal guild and create a priority listing of people if they think it is that important. Each should be led by someone with full DL (so no vested interest) who will enforce the list and tweak as necessary. Each guild would have to figure out it's own way to gather and distribute.

Heya,

Nice Suggestion Xyn, I just hope that there would be someone who could look after this matter and put it into effect.

I for one have been camping the Spider and 160/165 Boggans to no avail. Still havn't received a single Egg or Urn drop. Should one drop, a full DL player would get it and would rather loan it to a clannie, something I understand.
I for one don't have that luxury since I am the highest level warrior in clan...I would indeed need to work hard for my DL pieces.
Another hurdle that I face is that even thou I call other players from other Clans for DL bosses, I don't get them back....lol...just have to work extra hard I guess

I would like to thank the players who have helped me so far.

Looking forward to get my Urn...eventually.

Thanks guys

Yeah the DL quest is a real, real long quest for some. I personally think it is relative to time spent playing. I have posted before how i get frustrated with the conundrum of whether to spend my time levelling my toon, or camping for DL. As a part time player (like many others too) and as a rogue i have been at this for a good eight months now without a single DL piece to show for it. I personally have given up on getting bothered about the politics of drops because to me it is what it is and far be it from me to judge what other clans do; I am just happy playing as a part of my clan and enjoying a variety of aspects of the game.

The only point I continually come back to is when do we reach the point where we start to sell these items? If clans are keeping drops for their own, and some people aren't in large clans that share drops, then it stands to reason that unless you jump clans, the odds are dramatically, and I mean dramatically against you that you will ever finish this quest line. If one considers how many phs spawn compared to bosses, the fact that there are often multiple groups at a boss, and the uneven differential of classes to the even distribution of coloured drops, then even if you were to hit every boss spawn, everyday, for 24 hours a day, the odds are still dramatically against you compared to other players.

As I said, it is what it is and I personally dont bother myself to get frustrated over it anymore. I am curious though as to when the end game hits. At what point does every high level get outfitted? There are still many without weps i believe, but when does there become an abundance of drops in banks? A year from now? Two? At some point do we reach a point where we sell items? If a low levelled clannie gets outfitted because of the clan he is in, is that any more unfair to the other players than putting the drops for sale? That clan could still keep and outfit its members as it sees fit, but those outside of the clans that hoard might actually have a chance of one day living the dream . . . Personally i like the concept of sharing, i like the amicability of lugh, i like the server the way it is without a great deal of conflict . . . I just wonder when I will be able to live the dream . . .lol

Just some thoughts on the server that rocks, cheers all,

Personally i would like to see people with full dl armour, to stop rolling for eggs, and urns, people with wep to stop rolling for idols and with offhand stop rolling all together.

You'll argue that they need to repay people, i suggest that they camp/call for bosses to help that person have a better chance at getting that drop. Although there is no such thing as an ideal world.

I have given where i could and was given when i needed. This is how it should work, especially when every item is so difficult to get for certain classes. Druid is a bad example but ive given away, 3 eggs, 4 urns, 2 idols. Because i wasnt going to use. Rogue ive given 3 eggs and they made the choice of repaying me, but they still needed a piece of armour that needed a few eggs. This is how it should work, not oh pay me back quickly. We made the deal not to sell drops as a server why cant we do more? That is my question?

Ive been rolling for warrior dl stuff still.. Since i get my armor. But what to do when u get extra stuff?

Personally i give it all away to ppl who need. But... How i do it? Exemple. A guy lvl 190 not full dl need stuff and others under 190 need too to who i give that? To high lvl ofc. He deserve it like everyone but if hes higher than others he will be more usefull for final bosses. Why do i have to give a red horn, urn, idol, etc to a guy lvl 170 as exemple? DragonLord is very usefull for all, but if all high lvls get geared fast, we have a big chance to defeat NECRO as exemple, since we killed mordris already.

But who follow rules there? Warriors arent nice as Druids, Mages and Rangers. Rogue is pain! But warriors... I guess many ppl know what im talking about.

Xyns idea sound baddass rather than trying to put all the dl unfathomable on one page how about having 2 separate threads for each class's DL one where whats needed is posted and, one where we post what extra dl items we have. that way its not as hard to manage as having 80 ppl spamming the same thread.

PS. if this is not what u meant xyn im srry.
