Anyone who thinks a ranger can out DPS a rogue is very delusional.

Rangers shouldn't be able to out DPS rogues, because rangers are a jack-of-all-trades class while rogues are pretty much DPS. Now mages should be able to out DPS rogues, because they have a lower armor rating than rogues (cloth vs leather). Sadly, OTM nerfed mages because rogues complained. Such a pity.

You're kidding right? What roles can a mage choose? They can be a lure monkey, they can be your energy pool, they can be a full out dps monster AND they can do it all at a distance. What can a rogue do? Dps and uhh dps. That's it not to mention all at a close range ready to be destroyed. So let me ask you what's the point of us being solely a dps class if we aren't even the best?

No we have plenty of rangers and more than 2x ranger class drops to support them. I personally have 2 urns and an egg and nobody needs them. People will automatically have full dl on my world at level 170 if they fit these 2 conditions: friendly and either a mage/druid/ranger.

Expose Weakness and Smoke Bomb if you want to be support. Life Steal if you want to heal yourself, they can be a full out DPS monster, or they can tank which mages struggle to do. AND rogues can auto attack, where mages can't.

What are your auto hits and highest skill hit?

I average 700 auto on mobs my level with 1792 wep speed. The only dmg skill I use is double attack, but I really only use it on low level mobs because the time it takes to cast double attack is more than the time it takes to land 2 auto hits.

My stats are strength: 5 (260 with gear) dex: 545 (575 with gear) focus: 10 vit: 320

You should always be using double shot. Yes the animation is long, but you don't miss an auto by using it. If you look after the animation is done you will see two autos pop up on each other. This means that the move works as intended, but ranger animations are horribly delayed.[/quote]
Double ATTACK, not double SHOT..... also i never miss anyways because of my high attack....and the animation isnt long. the time it takes to cast the skill is long

Uhh... Str build means literally a damage based build such as having high damage. The heat just helps you hit harder.

So let me see if I understand you correctly.

If you have DL, and since it has heat damage, you should go str build.
If you don't have DL, don't go str build?

Why can't a ranger with DL be dex build?
Why can't a ranger without DL be str build?

Aileron, I don't think it is an automatic thing to do as far as going strength with full dl, but it's definitely the better option, imo. 3/5 of our moves on our armor directly affect our damage and atk/speed of our autos. To make the most of this it would probably be best to go strength to maximize the effects. 1/5 of our gear is for support (light heal) and the last 1/5 is for a move that rangers are asking to be fixed as it deals less damage than an auto. The only dex move worth using is longshot and even then it's not worth going down the road of a dex build. The rest of our dex moves aren't worth it.

The only reason I see for going dex is the added atk and defence, but why do that when you can equip an hrung bracelet to increase those stats more than stat points could or use steady aim to increase your damage and atk?

I'm pretty sure you were being sarcastic, but no need to do it in a condescending way. I know a dex build ranger with full dl, honestly, but out of the 9 rangers in the clan, it's only one dex ranger.

So to answer your questions:

Any ranger can do what he or she wants to as far going dex or str, it just seems better to go str with full dl for the reasons stated above, imo.

It is totally idiot, when a ranger has DL,
She should keep her dexterity, because as she will have lots of heat damage, the most important will be her accuracy!
