while i can see some argument for allowing sales (though i prefer the current arrangement - randall explained it quite well), the idea that warrior could win a yellow crown and a ranger at the battle might have to buy it makes me uncomfortable. That's how it is with frozen and meteoric - and i thought it was aweful when i was leveling back then (well before dicing was an option).
so, even if we allow sales, i would still say you can only dice your color.
if we think things are nasty now, image a new 170 mage winning a purple crown and then trying to sell it right away to at 195 rogue who was at the battle? ouch. Right now, when i get different colors (say, from soloing a ph4) i can just give it to a clannie or other player i know well. someone seemed to imply in an earlier post that getting drops just because you have friends isn't fair - i find that to be quite funny. I see it as meaning that someone who is a good, nice, helpful player and who makes a lot of friends is more likely to get outfitted. That is how it should be. many of us remember a player from update 3 who showed up out of nowhere, spend tons of gold to buy all rare things and get equipped, and spend time ksing everyone and being a real jerk much of the time (but was quite powerful). i would prefer to see drops go to nice, helpful people rather than someone with money to burn who is a jerk.
