Re: DOUBLE DICE DL SYSTEM

I am commenting on this as an outsider. Any dicing system whether double or triple dice is still a chance outcome and may or may not help you distribute the crown in a desired way. Dicing system will eventually lead to frustration and angst.

It is never easy to get everyone to agree on who should get the dl weapon first. Ideally, those who are at the highest level and who help most in boss raid should get the dl weapon first so that they can in turn help the rest to get theirs. In practice, this can be hard to implement if everyone thinks he or she deserves it first.

Fortunately for us in Resurgence, we have a Chief who is wise, fair and respected by all in the clan and in whom we entrust the decision on allocation of crown. All crowns are passed to him and he decides who is next in line for the dl mainhand. This has worked well for us without any resentment or complain from anyone. Eventually, most of our clan members now have dl mainhand and some have dl offhand too.

So, each clan and each server will have to decide what is best for the overall good of the clan or the server. People need to be mature and patient. Only if everyone is sensible will a proper system of drops allocation work well. I am not sugegsting any system you should use. Just sharing how we did it in our own way which worked well for us.
Yes, that sounds like a very effective system. Server-wide we have a lot of different people from several different clans. It would be difficult to find one person that would be trusted by all to deal fairly. It's great to hear from you. Feel free to pop in the lugh forums anytime. :)

+1 to players over 185 dicing twice for crowns

Theoretically this should only apply to players who still need crowns (not including crowns owed). However, most of us over lvl 185 who are fully equipped know people of the same class who are 185+ that still need crowns, but might not be present at that particular fight (while several people under lvl 185 might be present). This is something that should be examined and made clear.
Overall its a great idea either way. Great job ade, its about time.

Please keep it simple.

I am still of the opinion that one dice roll per legible participant in the fight is the way to go, and that we must trust that players help each others out so that a player who just got his first crown will lend it to the guy who needs only one more to complete. This whole discussion is built on the assumption that high lvl Lugh players don't help each others out and rather sit on the drops.

Now, as soon as Ade's constructive idea of double dicing for lvl 185+ for crowns has gained massive support (based on the ones who have actually replied on this post), there's a suggestion to expand the double dice rule with the "need" element. Which means that if the double dicing is established, with the "need" condition, there are two extra variables to take into account at each dice, and that may create new suspicions and bickering.

188 +1

Derken, the only problem with the current system is that too many crowns are sitting in backpacks and very few are following the "help others" edeal that was set up first.

I can tell you that there is a druid 180+ but not even close to 190 that will likely beat my druid to offhand. And I have been on since the first snori kill in lugh when it was an idol fest and rage was a factor. I have camped at least 3-8 snoris per day 4-5 days per week other than when i was off with my mother (33 days). I have loaned several crown out and many many other items. Most have been repaid, but not all. I have borrowed exactly 1 green crown to get my main. The very next green I got after that went to repay, NOT in the bottom of my backpack to stay there until i get 3 more for offhand. So this is prime example of how the system is a failure. Im not sure how to make it better, but something needs to change. I have recently heard of a druid that has 1 green crown and stated "I will not give up no matter what". This is the mentality that destroys the honor system and sharing for the betterment of LUgh.

I see this as sort of a compromise. We cannot really come to a consensus on a list of players to gear, and our current system is inefficient. This seems like it would help to stack the odds a bit in the direction that is needed. (No system is perfect, and any system based on sort of democratic ideals like this is inherently inefficient. But we want our server to be as fair to everyone as possible, and we want it to be open to everyone. Churchill once said that "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.") ;)

My post disappeared.

My reply is i would support 2 rolls if:
The toon is 190+ and the toon doesnt have offhand. Also, this would only be for crowns.

Only one roll otherwise, including if you owe.

I think 190 is the right cutoff-they are the one that are gonna do the most on bosses. This will mostly affect warriors and rogues, and i would like to see the 190+ have the edge in getting equipped. They also gave done the real difficult leveling.

Everyone within 10 of boss get to roll tho, just like normal.

Kinda building off of this
How would everyone feel about saying anyone 190+ without weapon or offhand gets 2 rolls on crown drops and changing mordy/necro rolls to the same system (190+ gets 2 rolls on 190 req drops)?

Well, the argument is that this is for the greater good and we will all be better off if more players are better equipped.

Here's another one "for the greater good"

Melee players with DL wep abstain from dicing for mordy/necro melee weps, as these weps will make a bigger difference in the hands of melee players who would otherwise have to be using frozen or bone weps. It should also result in melee players who have won mordy/necro weps to abort their DL-wep quest and donate DL-drops collected to players without DL wep.

It could look like the road to necromancers defeat is paved with good intentions. What worries me is that all these rule changes are based on one assumption, that there are loads of crowns stacked away. How much do we know for a fact about this, and how much is speculation?

I think we should just consider crowns for now. I think end game bosses are ok.
