Mordy/Necro Level requirement

#1
The current level requirement is 185, yes? But the boss is 190
And with all the other bosses requirements of 10 levels below im not quite understanding where the logic came from. Sure its and edpndgame boss, but so was aggy till update and the level req is 10 levels below,no?
If there is a valid reason for this then im all for it but if there isnt then surely we should keep things as simple as possible and put the level requirement at 180 but only rolling for items u that u can use.

Excuse me, i brought my rogue lvl 180 to mordy and the lowest hit i saw on boss was 175, when the average max hit was 450 and the average hit was 300. How is that severely nerfed? Honestly, using the term severely nerfed would mean that they hit under 100. I did not see any hits below 100 infact that 1 auto was the only hit i saw that was 100-200. The rest were 200+

I agree that the boss should have a 180 req, simply because the nerfing is not as bad as you say and that the drops requirements start at 180 not 185.

That rule is bs wrapped in a blanket of lies.

And we could actually kill out of the 1 timezone if you guys opened up the restrictions... You could see more kills and less waiting time. Hell i cant even make the current kills cause of your timezone.

Luk...I'm not the "end all-be all" guy here, I'm just restating what was already argued over and stated many times over already. Maybe I'm a noob and am missing something but, I'm pretty sure it's damn near impossible to see exactly what your actual hit was at mordy. Too many people hitting at once, and the dmg number animates inside the top part of his body for the most part....how did you accomplish this? I don't want you to take this as me bashing you, I just seriously want to know how you are able to tell this?

He says he didn't see a number go below 175. I have to call bs there though as I personally saw a few 60-85 in there as he said he hasn't seen a hit lower than 150 or whatever. I was trying to tell him but a sent spawned and after killin it I conpletely forgot until now. Numbers are only there for a split second and I doubt everyone sees the same numbers due to lag so where you may have seen just misses and 200s another may have seen different hits, like me. There's definitely a damage nerf, a big one.

As one of the individuals involved in the Mordris Planning, I can tell you exactly how we came to the 185 level requirement. We had three FAILED attempts with an all out anyone come approach. After much colaboration and assistance from others, a four group plan was proposed, the plan had been proven on other servers, our server wanted 6 groups to include others, and our server decided that 6 was way too many ppl. So 5 groups was implemented. Our server and others have used the base four group plan with min DPS at 185. All that have used the 185 min DPS have been successful.
We just did Mordris on Saturday Mar 22nd, DPS group had more 185 DPS than normal, Mordris raged, Tank died four times, we almost LOST the fight.
Many may not agree with the decicision to have DPS at 185, I can see thier point, I just do not agree with that point.
On this server, we have done Mordris with 4 groups and DPS group at 187+, we were able to defeat her in less than 13 min.
I am not trying to argue or point fingers, I am only attempting to explain the the OP what went into the process on determining the 185 DPS req.
And just an observation. Necro is still standing …….why? If damage is not nerfed, he should be dead by now. We have many 180-185 out there. And nothing is stopping anyone from attempting to defeat him.

Disregarding randalls post, why then is the rest of the bosses 10levels below req? The same nerf applies to any other boss. Yet we still allow 10 levels below.

I understand 185 is more to make it less chaotic, but still i think that this rule isnt needed.

Necro is a different story, necro should be 185 and no exceptions.

Mordy and Necro are kinda the same luk, we tried Mordy with the 10 below on DPS …. it failed. We have group 5 with the 185 to get the adds, we have tried hard to make Mordy more accessible, but she hits real hard, those without DL armor die a lot. Those that are not above 185 on DPS thier damage on Mordy is not as much. If the groups are limited to 2 dps groups, that means 16 DPS. The damage of 8 level 180 just flatly does not add up to beat rage. This was discussed and debated on forums when we first started Mordy, it was decided then that 185 will be the cut off.
If you can prove that a group of level 180's can do it, by all means, please prove it. Get a bunch and go kill her.
It is known (and All agree) that there is a nerf of damage the further away from the boss u are. It used to be 10 levels, since the update, it now seems to be 5.
With Mordris, we cannot have too many ppl there, they get in the way, past battles have proven that.
Many did not like the 185 DPS requirement, but they went out and leveled to make the requirement and are now involved in her takedowns.

many bosses have a special quality that require an adjustment to our standard model. the 10 below rule has more to do with the fact that when a new update comes out, we want to tackle the boss before everyone reaches the boss level. 10 levels seems reasonable. however, even then (and even now) killing DL bosses is not trivial. i have seen 165 reset with 190s in attendance. However, it is not really worth trying to change things for those bosses (except for the dicing for the ever rare crowns).

other bosses sometimes require special considerations. we need bashers for hrung. we need mages and really high dps for mordy. we dont even know what we need for necro, though tests indicate ranged attacks and really high dps will be needed. As we found what worked, we adjusted the requirements. also, as has been noted, we are trying to avoid an aggy-like situation with 50+ ppl all vying for drops.

while it would be nice for a one size fits all policy for all bosses, that just isnt always feasible.
