This 'Introduce Yourself' part of forum, makes me think of documentaries about those brave souls who join AA or an Obesity group, or any other that is formed to help people with addiction problems. You know how it goes, the new member of a typical AA group stands up and says, 'Hello my name is X and I'm an alcoholic'. That must take a lot of courage. I used to be so smug in my youth, imagining I would never be addicted to anything. While I am not an alcoholic and have never taken drugs, I am in fact a drug addict as I smoke cigarettes, which means I am addicted to nicotine. So I think I am also going to end up in an addiction group, standing up and admitting I have a serious addiction to cigarettes.

There are of course other types of addiction like gambling (even 'sex addiction according to the actor Michael Douglas) and last, though not least, gaming! I didn't realise anyone could possibly become addicted to playing a game until I myself became addicted to this one. Having said that, it isn't like my addiction to nicotine (I don't feel stressed or ill natured if I don't play this game, as I do when ever I have tried to stop smoking). I actually think a lot of my game addiction is simple bloody mindedness, as in like most players, I have put a lot of time and money into it, so feel it would be a waste just to delete it.

So, to anyone new to this game and/or server, a big welcome.....just don't get addicted to it (especially you younger beasts who need to be exploring and also having fun in the real world). Oh, and also to the younger beasts, it isn't 'cool' to drink too much, smoke and/or take drugs, or talk in Rap gang speech (like some on this game). Addiction is actually a horrible thing, as in what ever the addiction is it not only ends up destroying your health, but it takes over your life. Be addicted to life, cos even those of us fortunate to live to old age, in terms of the age of the stars and planets, our time here is one very short 'hit'.

it's not that I don't get it, I agree, but a lot of these kids will/won't understand.
