A new example ruleset for creating a peaceful world

#1
I am creating a new clan on Rhiannon with the goal of uniting the world peacefully. Not making everyone come into my clan, but making my clan like a puzzle piece that fits in just right and is part of the bigger picture that is Rhiannon. I want this world to be a shining example of what cooperation can do for a world and how much abundance it brings. The rules I have set will ensure good clean fun. If any members in our clan violate the rules against another clan they 100% will be kicked until the issue is resolved.

The rules are basically:

1. No trying for lock if another group was there first and hit first. Try to group them if you need it. Or wait to see if they get wiped. Or help them preferably if they want help.

2. If you were there first and another group comes rushing in and hits first you can compete for lock.

3. No playing dirty with bolas/adds/taunting/calming whatsoever.

4. We will set up friendly consensual competition with other clans.

5. To become a general you must prove your mettle by completing level 60 in ladder. You can use an alt charecter for that if you like.

Thank you and have a good day. If you are interested in coming and learning from me or playing in my clan, Mail DaVinci in Rhainnon. The clan name is Rapture.

A Mage is like a Lamborghini, You don't get one as your first car or daily driver and there are cheaper cars that go faster and are more comfortable anyway.

I don't know how much experience you have when there's a rush to take the boss. You'd have several people there, several incoming, and the boss aggros and everyone starts wondering what to do.

Do you:

1) Stand and ask in clan chat - "Who hit first?", "Did we hit first?", "Should I attack? Is it okay?"....then boom you guys lost lock.
2) Attack immediately and whine "Hey we were here first, this is our bosss", and someone from another clan will say "Shut up noob" and someone else we say, "No we were here first", and someone else will say "We got lock so the boss is ours", and one will get pissed off and start bolasing, calming, whatever to reset the boss, and chaos eventually ensues breaking rule #3.

Not trying to bash your suggestion, but ya gotta be a little pragmatic. May look good in paper but meh, it ain't going to happen.

Is this for Rhiannon members to look at only, or is it something you think everyone should inspire to implement? Just so I can move it if need be. :)

A simple set of rules here - etiquette is important to prevent clan wars while a little competition may be healthy if everyone is mature enough.
I posted here to show how people can solve problems on thier own server. I made a more world specific post in rhia.

If both were waiting there relatively the same amount of time camping the boss then that would fall into rule 4. If we were at that point the two clans would have discussed what we were going to do with that boss. I see your point but it is all about communication. I have been able to maintain pretty good respect and such from every chief I have come accross (except one who is now gone. And I tried but he had a grudge), and chiefs are usually pretty reasonable if you have a good idea on how to solve issues while still keeping a fun environment for their clan.

It may sound difficult and of course it would be but the best things are sometimes the most difficult to achieve. I speak out of little experience on high level bossing but I hope you can see where I'm coming from.

I think whole server unison is required. A bit like everyone in London knows how to use the Tube (London Underground) without any given rules. If someone is deviant and breaks the innate, implicit rule, then it's looked down upon. For example, it's an implicit rule that you don't initiate conversation on the Tube with strangers, or that you never sit directly next to a person unless you have to, or you must walk at a brisk pace. If people don't follow these little rules then no one says anything, but it's looked down upon. It's just common habit between Londoners.

In the same way, if everyone on the server knew to wait and discuss who will take the boss out of habit, then it can have its benefits. This is a perfect situation and of course it will take a lot of work and trust for it to happen and I understand not everyone can be trusted to be do civil. Sometimes things are better on an individual level, sometimes on a clan level, and sometimes on a server level.

Right. There is only 1 boss per server, there are no separate instances, so by definition the whole server needs to be on the same page or there will be fighting. Noone is against healthy consensual competition, but we all know fighting is bad. Or they can take it to the arena (but not on glad lol).

The tartget lock is already in place and its not going away. There isnt really any more need to make up a bunch of rules tnat would be impractical to enforce anyway.

Whoever gets the target lock gets the boss, its that simple.

If you were there first and some other clan swoops in and gets the lock then it just means you didnt form faster. If it was a battle from the start and you lost lock, then it just means the other group had better dps. There is no real reason to whine and cry about losing a battle, just be good sports about it and look forward to the next one.

Why would anyone think that if you didnt get the lock, that you still deserve the kill?
