I've heard people talking about tanks, what is a tank?:-)

It's a long standing mmorpg term for a warrior with high armor and high hit points.

It's a role in a group. So Tanks, Healers and DPS are the main group dynamic roles. Healers is self explanatory, DPS means Damage Per Sec, and stands for classes that aim to achieve high DMG. A tank is primarily a class that absorbs the DMG from bosses, it's doesn't HAVE TO BE a warrior...but Warriors have a "Taunt" ability meant to keep mobs and bosses on to them, thus letting DPS not have to curtail their DMG.

It's just basically a title to describe that kind of role in a group. But technically other classes *can* tank, they just aren't as dynamically suited.
