While selling chests can be a very profitable option, I think opening them yourself is a much better deal. Pretty much chests give you all the lixes, pots, idols, backpack and bank expansions that you will ever need. It also gives sigil crates which are very important as well. Not to mention the chance at the 2 million gold and the rarest of instruments and staffs. The things you don't use you can always sell as well to make extra cash. I know I opened at 2,000 chests over the period of a day or so and it turned out to be a very worth while experience instead of selling them. I actually got a couple of nice things like the rarest dragonstaff which I sold for 1.4 million gold. Anyway, that's just my opinion.
