The problem with the dkp system is that rolling almost always takes place with every single drop.

Eg. A hrung dmg brace drops, 5 people want it, then its all based on luck.

Im looking for a fair system where rolling does not play a major factor.

The addition of dice in my opinion is destroying atmosphere in the game in many ways: scammers, spammers, people who say roll when they dont recieve the drop etc.

Dkp is a point system earned through attending raids . There is no rolling at all. You are referring to rolling.

In my clan we have points earned . They vary between each type of raid boss. If more than one person goes for an item the one with more priority points gets the item. I i i am pretty sure priority points are earned through gaining points (dkp ones) and you lose them when you take an item, thereby allowing everyone to have a chance at loot they want . Also makes sure one person cant outdo everyone after taking an item over and over again.

Okay seems fair in all honesty. How do you give out priority points though? I can be extremely activr at raids for a month, then when school work gets heavy , I tend to be inactive. Would another player that was less active than me previously but active during my inactiveness be prioritized over me?

priority is a balance of the points you earned, minus the value of the gear you have claimed, so whenever you claim gear it not only lowers your dkp value, it also adds a negative value to your priority



simple example

raid=100 points
ring value= 50 points

you should now have 50 points left, but the ring now adds a - value to your priority so it is now say 40

not exactly how it works but you get the idea :p

points also decay, for example points you earn in a raid, will lose 10% ov their value a month later

i think the forum we use also helps with automating the decay and stuff like that

dkp determines your priority for an item
