I think the key to Sharp Shot's usefulness at higher level is whether it is an extra shot or if it replaces an auto. The answer seems to be sometimes yes, sometimes no.

I counted the number of shots over time with and without Sharp using a DL bow (delay 2860; wearing a haste ring so the effective delay should become 2002). I got about a 5% increase in the number of shots per second with Sharp.

I repeated this with a 3000 delay bow and didn’t wear my haste ring. This time I found an increase in the number of shots per second to be 13%.

My guess is that Sharp is an extra shot if you happen to cast between autos. As your firing rate increases the time between shots decreases thus reducing the probability of casting Sharp between autos. If this is true, the benefit of Sharp would be reduced further with a haste lix.

Yet this skill is included on DL armor and end game drops—smh.

See this is the kind of info I wanna see... Not just random disapproval. But anyways, sometimes I notice that even while the animation is slowed down ill still see two or three hit numbers come up over the mobs head (probably dependent upon if I'm on a haste or not) but I haven't really done any in depth research on it.

Roger's experience coincides with my own. The faster your hits, the less effective skill damage is to my overall DPS. Haste elixers really seem to negate sharpshot benefits, even when the hit numbers stack(I believe this is due to delays in the animations).

Even with a slow wyrm bow, the benefit from autos on a haste elixer outweigh the benefit of casting sharpshot and doubleshot back to back.

I am glad the information is useful. For the record, I counted shots as the damage numbers floating off Crammok along with the occasional miss (Parry?! Crammok parried? How dare he!). I agree the animation is a poor indicator of shots fired.

Have to agree with Hawkeye on this one.

Sharpshot is a crappy skill, gets avoided, loses a large portion of its damage due to mob armour.

Most mobs have high physical evasiveness, sharp shot is a physical attack skill.
