Re: suggestion for level 190 mordris drops

if the req to fight is 185 then why do we even have a dicing restriction in place at all? It's like, "Oh yeah we definitely need your help but you aren't as good as me because you haven't spent 35 elixirs to get up 3 levels so you aren't rolling for what I'm rolling for. We still need your help though."

IMHO it should now be as any other boss fight, if your eligible to fight, your eligible to roll.

Let's not complicate. One roll for everyone in the fight. Be happy for the person who wins the drop, if you're not then keep it to yourself.

On the onset, I thought we were doing this to gear players for Necro. I guess the tides have changed. :?
We seem to always want more...more than what need apparently. But who can anyone blame, it is human nature...greed is the inventor of injustice as well as its current enforcer-Julian Casablancas

Just my two cents on the drop switching issue. Why not have someone out of clan join group for transparency. We personally know most of the players. I would say I trust most but if it raises suspicions with others then just be done with it and group them. Win-win situation. Keeps peace and kills doubt in the heads of others.

i doubt the dominant clan thing will ever happen (or stay stable for long) - too many of the most powerful players, regardless of clan, will never disallow another good player for joining a fight just because of their clan. i cant imagine ever telling Lukov or Reytch, "sorry, you're not in ancients". also, i have seen so many clans rise and fall, come and go. Interestingly, when a clan becomes too powerful and/or arrogant, it is often some of the top players that leave.

I wouldnt get too fussed about any clan seeming to get too powerful. Just because a clan is more powerful than anyone doesn't mean it is more powerful than everyone.

First off, the 188 rule was proposed before otm added higher lvl mobs. It makes no sense now. Wouldn't be opposed to only lvl 190+ rolling on lvl 190 req items, but for this to be fair, would have to be voted in only by people under lvl 190.
In any case, you have all made valid points and the consensus seems to be that if you make the lvl req for the fight, you can roll for anything that boss drops. The lvl req should remain as is:
185 melee
180 casters
Simple.

Off topic...

Alliance doesn't seek to become a dominant clan in any way. Every individual is entitled to their opinion, but our individual opinions don't define our clan collectively, as a whole. We are your friends, your neighbors. You know us, and you have for a long time. You are our friends, our neighbors; the people we grew up with.

A small clarification on Adebayor's words that disturbed a few people:

I know a bit about Adebayor and how she thinks, at first sight we all jumped to the conclusion that there are aspirations for one clan to become dominant. But really no, I think she meant to say that all this server joins hands into one big clan. she said "Or we become a dominant clan server and use a DKP system --- the best choice really ", which i'm pretty sure she means everyone. Actually it's mostly a suggestion of a solution for better dicing, but was expressed hastily.

Well the dkp system as I read only little information about, I understand it concerns dicing by gathering Dragon Kill Points (it's found in many mmos) , for each player, which requires a sheet like excel to type all the information into. And in order to make this work easier, usually clans apply this system on themselves but i think that the problem is that it becomes more complicated in calculating dkp points, if the players were divided on different clans. But I honestly believe that it's applicable even if we were in different clans. Communation between clans solves this. I still think that this server is not ready for it yet. Although it divides boss drops on how many dkp points each player has gathered, as i understood you need to have points to spare when you claim an item. etc.. Therefore you end up not always winning everything. other people start winning items too. You can't have an ice mage winning 5 firebolt braces while another fire mage has none. And so on and so on.
I think that's why she said the words "dominant clan", to save the countless hours of making dkp sheets. It's silly actually.

As a future end-game player... who knows when I'll get to Hrung/Mordy, I think that if you are of level req. to help with the boss you should be able to roll for an item UNLESS said item is 5-10 levels above you AND there is another player present who has a greater NEED than you and will actually USE said item.

As was stated, if you're asking for someone to help, even if they're a little under the req, but still give some sort of DPS/Lures/Heals, why not include them in the reward of items?

The thing that drew me to Lugh, was the fact that clans helped one another on bosses and there wasn't as much target lock crap going on. Drops are sometimes sold, which on this server, benefits everyone.

The issue that I see with a mega clan, is that those at the top typically benefit more than those at the bottom. I'm not saying anyone on Lugh would do that, but reytch pointed out that greed is a powerful thing. There's a clan on Herne that has had numerous issues with the generals being more worried about gearing themselves than gearing everyone.

Also, a DKP system wouldn't be fair for everyone. Think about people who aren't able to be at every boss to earn their "points". Is it fair to them, that they've spent hours when they can leveling, only to get no boss drops due to RL scheduling conflicts? I'm sure that type of system works for hardcore players who are at every boss fight, because getting that Godly Spear of Pixel Greatness is super important so they're willing to sacrifice RL activities.

What I think makes Lugh great, is the fact that end-gamers actually HELP one another out and LEND each other items that aren't in use. If you aren't using an item, why let it collect dust when you can help out a clanny/friend that will use it? Either sell it to them at a decent price or loan it to them. I've heard/seen numerous people lending Aggy/Mordy/Hrung drops to help out those in need. That right there is what makes Lugh great.

Why not let the lvl 180/185 roll for the Hrung Helm that they will actually USE instead of the lvl 190 putting said helm away in the bank only to be a mantle piece?

Since CH is 95% PvE, helping out others with gear/leveling is more beneficial as a whole.
