I honestly love being a ranger. We are so adaptable to any situation that we become a staple in raids. Rather it be from bolas, to assist on boosting damage of the party, to dps. I personally feel that our dl offhand skill is amazingly strong for us. Being able to add divine damage directly to our damage is amazing. Not to mention 7 rangers can use the skill at once and not have to worry about timing or weather or not someone elses will be cancelled out.

We very well can get kills on large bosses. In fact we have had two rangers get kills on mordis, one getting the kill multiple times.

This topic is about rangers purpose, not comparing us to rogues. Also, that part of my post was in response to albs post.

Rangers can attack from the furthest range of any class which makes avoiding aoes and adds easier (and makes them very important for necromancer)
Rangers can heal, bolas, buff group dmg, slow boss attacks
Rangers have damage skills and a self buff that boosts damage and attack.
Rangers are 3rd best dps and can sometimes compete for kills with top tier gear.

In summary, rangers are a versatile class. Thats what ive experienced anyway. I use my ranger more than any other class. Its the class that is always needed at a fight. And if your not needed you can switch to full dps and still deal decent damage. My warrior on the other hand has only one use - tanking. Dps is probably the worst of all classes. But i enjoy tanking which is why i play warrior. Choose a class you enjoy playing.

Aka skills that are dealing damage to more than 1 player (iceblast,firestorm,explosive arrow etc...)
