Please play a ranger before making a guide.
Good point… I based this guide only on my experience pvping obsidian rangers. Despite this, I think the builds I provide are pretty solid.

However, you're right—I have not actually played an obsidian ranger myself, so I'm open to suggestions. You have a high level ranger, and it sounds like you disagree with something I said.

In your opinion, what exactly in this guide should be modified? (Remember that this guide is effective for levels 60-160.)

If your gonna make a guide on pvp, split it up to the EXPENSIVE PVP BUILD and the PVP BUILD THAT EVERYONE CAN USE.

:D Just saying cause most rangers can't afford all this.

You have failed to account for the slow speed of skills while using obsi bow, there is little to no chance the ranger gets his longshit off, followed by double and then bolas? Just nearly impossible.

Why do you think the builds are solid? You have never tested them, this guide should be called a theory not a guide, the best guides are always written by people with first hand experience, if a mediocre guide is your goal then congrats.

This is the 3rd ranger pvp guide I have seen made by a non ranger, it's getting old.

True, but well-made expensive pvp builds will always win against well-made inexpensive pvp builds. The idea is that I list the best gear you could have at those levels.

But you don't need all that gear—heck, you could probably win quite a lot with just an obsidian bow, longshot and double shot.

Valid arguments all the way, thanks for pointing out the slow attack speed.

I think I have a bolt thrower in my bank. It has 6458 attack speed while an obsidian bow has 6300. I will make a ranger alt, equip the bolt thrower and heroic gloves, and then time exactly how long it takes to fire longshot, double shot, and then bolas. After that, I will adjust the skills/rotations if necessary.

As for the rest of your post—yes, I know that I have little experience with rangers. But given the lack of a decent pvp guide in the ranger forum so far, I decided to make an attempt at a pvp guide based on my experience pvping rangers. And no, I will not prefix the guide with "Theoretical."

You can criticize and discourage me all you want, but I won't stop trying to improve the guide. :)

Ok I have timed some ranger skills after equipping bolt thrower + haste gloves. Here's what I found:

Longshot — 2.7 seconds (seems to be the only skill that depends on weapon speed of the skills I tested)
Double shot — 1.2 seconds
Entangle — 1.1 seconds
Bolas — 2.8 seconds

Eliminater is right; longshot and bolas are extremely slow. They would never be viable for a pvp build. Double shot is still quite fast. That, and rapid shot, should still remain in the obsidian ranger build.

I will edit the guide to remove longshot and bolas from the skills. I am still deciding what I should add as replacement skills.
