Rogues can incorporate life steal into their builds without a massive loss of dps because not only does it heal, but it does poison damage and rarely misses.
'Rarely misses'? It misses probably 49% of the time for me. Pretty annoying since it's an energy eater, and I sometimes rely on it.

Also: In general, rangers' skills do need major buffs: defensive spikes, explosive arrow, sharp shot and barbed shot are all useless.

Um yes barely misses, mine hits 90% of the time whether its mordy or a regular mob, and it does about 1400-1700 dmg

I find the jack of all trades argument soooo update3.

Rogue support skills are better than ranger support skills IMO . Go ahead and say entangle is good and show us u have never played ranger. We need a working skill that slows the mob. In my experience, Entangle misses more than any other skill in the game, and I have tried every skill from every class without exception.


You want to make ranger a more group oriented class? Make rapid shot a group aoe skill, make light heal a group heal skill make sharpen weapons poison based and make defensive spikes poison based, I would also like to see barbed shot be poison based. That would make ranger a fun group class.


All that aside, I absolutely love ranger as it is, it's fun play.

I think we should just make ranger superior to all classes.
No even better. We'll take out every class except ranger. We'll give them tons of armour, dmg, and healing, maybe even give them some magic abilities.

In al seriousness, rangers are meant to be the way they are now (they need a skill buff thats apparent). But why the hell would i make a rogue, a pure dps class, if i can just make a ranger who can lvl easier, boss easier, have more dps, can heal, can bolas.....then what would b the point of rogues if rangers do the exact same dmg? Im gonna save up some gold to make a ranger just in case lol.

Jack of all trades? If that was actually useful there wouldn't be other classes. Support skills are poo.

Light Heal: Druids have 3 skills which can directly heal druids win, no need for rangers there.

Sharpen Weapons: Ok the average 50/50 sharp weps is like 120 damage? That's a 960 damage add on in an 8 man group, so in actuality its 480 added damage and no more.

Then there's poison weapon. I took Biteys website Skill calculator here: http://celticheroes.blogspot.com/2014/0 ... lator.html and entered Levvys stats, link here from a recent post: http://celtic-heroes.com/forum/viewtopi ... 51&t=58145 I assumed his cunning and dagger abilities were maxed out.

The poison weapon output was 163 poison damage. That'sa full 163 damage unless you are facing the odd mob with posion resist. You can cast it on other people and if you cast it on 8 others it would add up to 1304 direct poison damage. Lol. And we aren't even inputting in the adds he could have and the add he obviously has of +5 from his dl gear to poison wep.

Someone mentioned that they can replace warriors as tanks. Warriors and Rogues are never missing, if you want to lose lots of dps that ranger already don't have and put them into vit be my guest. All classes except for mages due to their lack of armor can tank with this logic.

And then of course rogues beat rangers when it comes to dps.

Poison weapon has a recast time preventing you from casting it multiple times in quick succession. Druids are healers. Rangers are support. There is a difference. Two completely different classes. Druid armour sucks. Dedicating a skill to have less than the best armour? Rogues are within AoE distance and use more idols/pots on bosses. Rangers are relatively cheap considering their great survivability and ranged combat. A ranger shouldn't have dps equal(or even in the same ballpark) as a rogue. You have the advantage of attacking from a distance and healing and buffing and debuffing and little to no energy issues.

Poison weapon has a cast time of about 10 seconds, and it lasts for 120 seconds. A support rogue can cast the skill on 12 people plus be able to keep it constantly on. Case closed

Sure rangers can be cheaper, easier to level? Hell no. They are so frustratingly slow, you will waste more lix per lvl, making it equally as costly. Plus, there are a few glitches that restrict a nice flow. The invisible arrow is a renown one, how about when you kill a mob and you can't move for a couple of seconds some times?


Even if it was an easy or cheap class to level, whats it worth when you are crappier than all the other classes at endgame. The reward isn't good enough. They shouldn't force a build on a class.
