Re: How much attack is too much?

Thx for taking the time to confirm this. Unfortunately its difficult doing this on raid bosses as its hard to see the numbers. That is the real question though. With mobs the relationship kinda plateaus after 4k attack and u stop seeing a large improvement in accuracy. But bosses might be a different story as the % will be alot lower at 4k attack. If only i can figure out a way to do it on a raid boss.

I did notice the %s are abit unreliable though. For instance the % increase from 3k atk to 3.5k atk is less than 1% but from 3.5k to 4k its almost 3% again. Then it drops again to less than 1% for 4.5k. It could be that 4.5k to 5k is roughly 3% as well. Might need more data for this.

Maybe it can be tested on a high lvl tank in arena. You could test it on 5k def down to 1k.
That is a good idea. For my experiment, I tried to make sure I didn't have to bother anyone else to help me. But for more actuate information, and more date points, it will require multiple people working together.
Although, just having a tank test out different defence stats doesn't help us understand raid bosses. We don't know how much defence raid bosses have. They could have 5k, or they could have 50k for all we know. (exaggeration)

I did spend hours getting taking these statistics, and I know I made a few mistakes along the way. It would be great if someone else did the same experiment so I can truly know how accurate my results are. 1000 attacks might not provide the full picture, it might take 10000 attacks in order to truly estimate the accuracy of any given attack amount. (but I'd settle for 2k attacks and hope it gives us the full picture.

But what if you obtained an insane amount of attack, ending with 100% accuracy? Could this defeat your previous example of more damage but less attack>less damage but more attack.
I doubt it. In order to get to 100% accuracy, your would need more attack than is possible with any amount of gear avalible at the moment, there is a good chance there is no suck thing as 100% accuracy. If somehow you were to attain 100%, it would probably cost you most of your damage as well, you might be able to do 500 damage with 100% accuracy, but that's nothing if someone else is doing 2.5k+ with 80-90%.

If this is true, which I highly doubt it is, I would like to see his stats page, along with his all of his jewelry items, plus whatever buffs he is using at the time to supposedly get those stats.
(If he is using a dl quiver and reapers rings to boost his damage by 700, I it doesn't count in my mind.)

What class is this character?

He's a Ranger and plays on Mabon. These are the stats you asked for:

This is what he said he had equipped at the time of these stats:
Shadow Str halberd, Shadowscale helm of victory, Godly attack/hp hrung brace, imperial attack/dmg hrung brace, garanak frostroot set, fiery axe of conquest, reaper ring, and lvl 50 steady aim. Hopefully we finish another bloodthorn set soon. I'll have around 9.5k atk then.

This came from a topic where he talked about how much attack is needed: http://www.celtic-heroes.com/forum/view ... =4&t=57703

Those are certainly impressive stats. I count about 6.5k attack based on his gear, so with a combo I can see how it would be 9k.
I would subtract 500 ish attack, and 130 ish damage for stead aim though. In order to cast it, he would have to switch to a bow, cast steady aim, then switch back to spear. Maybe this is what he does, but it still costs a good auto or two.
I can't say I approve of wasting a shadow spear. (if he owns it, and isnt just borrowing it) Maybe he doesnt owe anything to his clan, or however he teams with other players to defeat mord/hurng, but a spear like that would be in much better hands with a rouge, or maybe even a warrior.
