Re: DM Role stuff

#21
I'm going to comment on just the title here "DM Role stuff" since I don't feel like making a new thread, please allow me. There has been 2 incidents in the last 2 aggy dicing sessions:

1- yesterday at Aggy, the DM decided to dice a royal ring first then then imperial ring after. smh. I tried to correct him. Here are the answers which i got "whatever, royal all ROLL". then after that I got "elle get a life". then his friend said "elle please be quiet". So nowadays, we choose an unqualified DM, who becomes aggressive and abusive with words, if we try to correct them. I don't think this person should continue doing any DM in the future.

2- the previous Aggy, another DM decided to dice the trident as the first drop. smh. but he was polite enough to ask if he should dice the trident first. and when I told him we have to dice the brace he agreed and DMed it. Thank God. But! after dicing the brace and a class ring, he decided to DM the damage ring before the trident. Knowing that the trident is still considered a class drop, which only melee class should dice for. The damage ring was diced first, then the trident after. smh.

I understand that many people are eager to do DM job for the first time but please! if they don't bother checking the rules of dicing on the forum, then I hope they consider not doing any DMing in the future, before they get aware of dicing rules which are set for Lugh.

With all of that said, I'm not even sure what the proper order of dicing is. I know that personally, i want the best item diced first if its a situation where a player can only win 1 item. I wouldn't want to roll on a brace or ring if i can have a trident or something far superior. I always ask to appease the masses. Use this topic to explain how it 'should be done'. I'm not sure the order of items was listed

You always dice class restricted gear first. You dice the most restricted first ( like a skill ring is more restricted than a trident) and then you dice the most valuable item first (imperial rogue ring over mighty). Non-class items are diced last. All of the items should be listed before dicing. This is the way we have always diced stuff for first aggy, then hrung, and now mordy. This lets people decide which items they wish to win and if they should pass on a less desirable drop. Players then must decide if they want a smaller chance at a better item or a greater chance (sometimes a sure thing) with a lesser item.

Aggy dicing was originally set as:

Class rings
Class braces
Caster/melee weapons
Dmg rings
Non class/passed drops

Specifying order usually changed with what was better.

Hrung dicing should go as:
Class Helm or skull
Class brace
Ring
Passed/no class present drops

Mord dicing should go as:
Class rings
Class braces
Class books
Melee/caster weps
No class/passed drops

Drops off dragonlord bosses:
Crowns
Horns
Idols
Urns
Eggs
Gems

Colours dont matter but generally purple and red are first to be diced.

Necro dicing SHOULD be diced as
Class weapon
Class ring
Class brace
Non class drops (if there is such thing)

Dicemasters need to know:

Who meets the requirements to dice
Who was at the fight
Who was late

Dicemasters should know:
Who is unable to dice (if not someone must announce before fight or when the player turns up)
The highest roller (not trusting players who say grats xxxx)

Dicemasters must:
Give warning before refusing a dice
Announce "ROLL" before any dicing takes place
Keep tabs on alts and who has already won
Look for who lagged before trading a drop away

Winning drops:
Drops traded are final regardless of what happened
Only way someone can get the drop back is whether the person who won drop will accept your late dice

The dicemaster should have previous experience but if there is no player present with experience, a trusted player should be dm.

The dicemaster should not be a person who lags often, has a chance of lagging, low battery, or cannot stay long.

These are basic dicemaster rules.

actually, i think for aggy, Braces were first, then rings - but it makes little difference since they are all class based. I think braces were/are considered better than rings.

it is definitely good to use an experienced DM - and if a new DM is ridiculing the rules, we shouldnt use them again. It may seem a bit silly, but dicing is very sensitive to a lot of people and the DM should be familiar with the rules, trusted, and open to adjustments if he/she is doing something wrong (like starting to dice in the wrong order) - or forgetting one of the more obscure rules.
