Re: How many chars cab u bring to a boss

#21
i personally think that bringing 3 alts to the 150 is very selfish and unacceptable. the fact is that these players and their "alts" are taking advantage of the rest of the player base. i have seen in the past players using old toons that they don't level, bring their alts to Aggragoth just to get chances at extra drops. This person was a rogue with a 140 mage, conveniently satisfying the minimum req to fight Aggragoth. so if they won a mage drop, it would forever rot in there inventory and they effectively took a drop out of the hands of someone's main. which brings me to my next point and i want everyone to read this carefully.
:ugeek:
1. I personally do not see players bringing more than two alts at 150 lately. I guess whoever you are referring to, got the drift that it was a little bit too much. Have you tried asking nicely for a player to log off an extra toon? I have done this especially for OW bosses. When I see the group has a player using two toons I politely ask him or her to drop one of the toons off the group to give chance to other players.

2. Mind your own business? What a player does with his or her winnings is really the player’s prerogative. If I choose to stop leveling at 140 and just do Aggy, then that is my game play, that is my strategy. Am I breaking any rules? No. I can choose to do whatever with the drop I get, use it, sell it, lend it or have it collect dust in my bank. It is MINE because I rightfully won it. If you’re bitter about it that’s your problem not mine.
i recall hearing many many times that people want "the best for lugh." we can all work together and gear each other up. we can boss together and be happy and joyful. it all sounds good in writing. unfortunately this is somewhat distant from reality. while i do agree that lugh works together well in many aspects, there is an undertone of greedy looming in us all. many players choose to deny it. there are many hypocrites out there who like to point fingers. a perfect lugh would help everyone achieve a summer boss set, whether dmg aura, ability, etc. i personally think that it should be this way.
:ugeek:
1. OMG…where’s the credibility here? I cringe with the fact you used the term “hypocrite”, seriously, of all the players…smh. Lemme ask? How many players have you helped? How many deals have you taken advantage of? So, you want to be handed drops without breaking a sweat? Most players are not that stupid as far as I know. Generous but not brain-dead. If you open your eyes many players have been completing their sets. Slowly but surely. They camp and win and trade and buy. What is not fair here?
players should complete 1 set for their main, then when everyone is geared with 1 set, then and only then we can work on alts and newer players. i see players who have completed a set only to continue to camp and increase the difficulty of anyone else who wants one. i know some players who look only to complete 1 set and upon completing that set would stop camping altogether. its just ridiculous for someone to continue to camp over and over again at all the bosses let alone 1.
:ugeek:
1. How do you intend we do this? Make a Lugh Police? Communism? You do know that there are bosses that cannot be taken down easily, right? Hence, asking players to stop camping or fighting is not a logical option. Besides, how do you know what this player does with his/her winning? For all you know he/she is trying to get it for a clanny or a friend. I have seen a lot of these cases. I have seen players helped each other complete their sets. I also know a lot who are still helping others get theirs as well. That's why they continously camp and kill in the hopes of getting those final pieces. Whether you will get help is based on how you are liked, I guess. Help is a plenty you just need to know how to ask for it nicely.

i see that my words were altered a bit in your statement. i did not state that "all" players are hypocrites rather "many". i do believe that greed is prevalent throughout lugh. maybe not everyone is greedy but there is a lot of greed regardless, trust me. this includes myself. i make no effort to hide this. i cannot stand when someone accuses someone else of being greedy when in fact the accusers are selling items at ridiculous prices and doing dishonest things. i'll admit, as a merchant i sell for maximum profit, but i try to be as fair as i can and help others along the way.

to your questions, i have helped many along the way, tons of people before you and a lot of others started playing celtic heroes. i don't look to make a big deal about helping others, and its not my goal to be treated any differently than anyone else. i don't expect praise for doing good deals, because as far as i'm concerned everyone is an equal regardless of level, money, time played, etc.

as for deals, yes i look for good deals. if a player is selling something cheap i will buy it. i aim to get a good deal on items, being as merching is my only good source of income. i have bought things cheap in the past, yes. i have taken advantage of good deals, yes. i have also refused to buy items when players didn't know the value even though i did. i would simply tell them to ask around the going rate. i have also added gold when i believed an item to be too cheap. i try to be as fair as i can.

before i finish i want to say further say this. i have read on the forum about many players who refuse to bring alts to a fight if a rule was made to restrict dicing to once per physical player. while i do understand their reasoning, i personally believe, as stated above, that only 1 alt should be allowed to dice per fight. the reasoning is very simple in that it will increase the chances of more players getting drops. the fact that many druid alts are "threatening" to not show at the 200,etc, is ridiculous. my solution is to bring 1 alt depending on the need for the 150/200 respectively. lugh is more than capable of tackling bosses with only 1 toon from each player. the new sets are highly sought after and rather having 1 person with 20 pieces from the 200 boss, we can have 20 players with 1 piece each. this is just an example. like the other worlds, players can be locked into dicing for a single set that they desire. the gear can be dispensed abroad rather than to those that benefit from multiple dicing chances. with everyone well geared, there will be more of a chance of taking out the necro, with a little teamwork of course ;) less plat items would be needed and players would be better equipped for more challenges to come. this is really what lugh is supposed to be about. its simply unfair for a single player to win all the drops as they will find themselves with more drops than needed. in turn they will overcharge and horde their remaining drops.

i aim to look out for the single players of lugh. this doesn't mean i dislike players with alts i just think that this rule needs to be re-examined.

thanks,

Raij

For those who don't know, the current rule on alts:

You can bring alts that meet level requirements and they can all dice. However, the player can only win 1 drop.

This is fair, simple and easy to enforce.

On this topic, if any account (not player), is not doing their job during a boss fight, afk (including just autoing), they can be banned from that fights dicing.

Basically treat each account as a normal player, if they dont attack before lock, they cant dice. If they dont attack before half (half is lock if lock hasnt occurred by then) they cant dice. If they dont buff, debuff, cast before lock they cant dice.

Trioing is difficult, but when i did do it, i made certain that all my accounts were doing something, and if they werent then i didnt dice on those accounts. Hell there was one 150 fight i left my druid and mage and took my rogue with me as it spawned, and i said to the entire group of people "i am only rolling on my rogue"

I know of very few people who trio or more, one is me, the other is daisyboo, and last is a very inactive player called lightface. We are all generous people. We dont do something if it is completely unfair.

On a side note.

I did camp 150 for a shrivewood set, but instead i bought the whole set. I barely camp 150 anymore. So dont throw rumours around where we hoard drops. There are players who get lucky often and those who dont. 200 drops early on shalim had nearly 4 sets and i hadnt won a single drop. Some people get lucky others have to buy their way up.
