I think double is the obvious choice because rapid has much longer cool time and double never misses. But I would still use rapid as level 1 because it still has great dps but each skill point you put in doesn't help much so it's still good at basic and doesn't need any points. As for cast times doubles cast time isn't realy a problem it still never gets interrupted.

I'm struggling in choosing between rapid shot and double shot. I currently use Bolas, Light heal, sharpen, and long shot. Trying to pick one of the two above. I realize rapid is a greater dps skill but the cooldown is just sooooo long. Thanks for the input ahead of time guys.

Max the rapid shot
It'll last longer and cooldown will be lesser
And you should really get both.. I dont know any ranger who asked which to get between these two skills.. Just get both

I've done some experimenting and I've gone with rapid. Double takes so long to cast i can easily shoot twice in the time. Rapid on the other hand is mega dps.

Not only u cant 'easily shoot' two arrows in the double's cast time, double shot will get both arrows' dmg hit in the same time, its not instant travel but it is better, while being unavoidable and usually hitting more than 2 arrows.
