If they do end up putting this into game and only give you 1k health and energy for using idol, they will need to seriously look into rebalancing bosses. As of right now it's not a huge deal since Mordris is easier, but his cloak that pops when he's almost dead already kills people pretty quickly, idoling and only have 1k hp would make you die even faster and cause significantly more idol locks and death penalties. Yes you can just not attack him during that period, but in the beginning you almost had to have dps on him at that time to get kill in time. As a whole it doesn't make much of a difference for this update, but next e.g. bosses will be too hard imo with the new idols. Not a fan, but just my opinion...
Add the death penalty to this and it is profoundly stupid.
Curse needs to be gone if our idols don't do their job. Boom :roll:

As far as I can tell its a boost. Before when my mage died he didnt gain any energy. Now he will gain 1000.
Do u gain energy from dieing cause i read it as ur energy goes to 1000 and health goes to 1000 when u respawn.
Ah, I think you are right. Before I had e sigils though my energy was often 0 when i died. So I would just died again repeatedly or ley.

While the concept of NOT dying is quite valid, the fact is, people die, and die regularly.

At Mord, when trolls spawn, they die. When Priestess attacks, they die.

Hell, go kill the 165 dl boss. When his adds all cast skill, and you just idoled. Guess what, you'll probably die. And then you'll be idol timered.

The tank. Oh he may be alive, but the dps will be on the floor.

Personally, i find the nerf annoying. It's not an abused feature. Noone that I know of uses the idol timer logout method. We just wait it out. But if the fact is we will be idoled more often, because 1000 hp is absolutely minimal when boss adds can skill for over 1000, you're making it much more difficult for no reason.

The big question/comment i have is:

OTM, why don't you EXPLAIN your logic in making this revision? Why do you let us sit here and argue/debate the merits. You've obviously (?) thought about this and decided to make the change. So why?

Or, why not offer them both? Allow Ancient idols to continue to be sold, which give full health, but no energy (which is what they presently do), and sell a new type of idol that gives 1000 health and 1000 energy? That way people can choose which they would prefer?

Or, why not offer them both? Allow Ancient idols to continue to be sold, which give full health, but no energy (which is what they presently do), and sell a new type of idol that gives 1000 health and 1000 energy? That way people can choose which they would prefer?
This would drive prices of ancient idols through the roof. They probably already will skyrocket after the change, and I can can see the devs making the existing idols non tradable in order to try and stabilize the prices

I don't understand that at all. If both types of idols are available in the item store for the same price, why would that drive the prices up at all? If anything it would stabilize prices at present cost?
