Well, to draw another parallel, the war on drugs has many supporters and detractors on both sides of the argument. And both sides can get very heated when debating the issue. Same with buying/selling dl. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but I'm saying I understand both sides.

I think all the analogy is wrong. It was never that serious a thing except within the clan that these drops comes from. Everyone outside of the clan dont give a toot about it.

Restriction of selling drops is just a strategy for clan to get ahead in game. If you ever compare it with guns and drugs, i do not even see it as closer to anything near a strategy except that those are criminal profiteering means.

If anyone does sells drops outside of clan it is view upon as betrayal of clan solidarity. Where are the similarities with guns and drugs?

In my view adultery is a closer analogy thought not a perfect one.

Enough with the analogies, we don't need them, its plain as day what is happening.

I think the adultery metaphor fits perfectly (guns and drugs, not so much).

For example, let's say there is a husband and a wife. Another girl seduces the husband, causing him to cheat. The wife becomes extremely angry at the other girl.

Now translate that into CH speak…
Husband = DL seller
Wife = clan
Other girl = DL buyer
Seducing = offering gold
Cheating = selling DL drops

So that explains why DL buyers get so much hate. Clans see the DL buyers as seducing members to sell DL drops. And these clans obviously don't want their members to sell DL drops.

Wait a second... I was never drawing an analogy to the whole secret DL selling scenario... :/ My bad for making it confusing.

I was debating the point where the OP stated that as long as the act had supporters (in the form of supplying the goods), that made it okay. I wasn't linking it to CH directly, but to the mindset that the OP has.
