Where has the challenge gone?

#1
I want to have a general discussion, let me set the stage...

I have played this game for a couple of years now. My best memories seem to be in the distant past. Our small family-style clan kicked some ass and we had tons of fun working together to achieve different goals within the game. It was tons of fun.

But the fun seems to have become greatly diminished...

I logged in to this game to have fun. I have fun by taking on a challenge.

So what are our current challenges at plus level 190?

Killian?
Camping and waiting 1-2-3 hours, depending on the line to get a chance at 200k xp is boring. Whomever at OTM headquarters that designed a game that requires doing nothing for hours on hours does not understand the definition of fun. The main challenge here is staying awake!!!
I few months ago I finally woke up to the fact that Killian is no long fun and I quit doing him.

Caraich?
This is slightly better than Killian, but it still requires sitting around and waiting. Sitting doing nothing, no action, no challenge. I am glad this was added, but it is hard to call this fun...

Necro?
To kill Necro you need an active clan to show up with 30 plus members. With time zones etc. that requires a clan of 50 plus active level 190 players. This changes the dynamics of a small family-style clan to a community of drama. Big clans are no fun. Yes, there is a challenge here but dealing with 50, 70, 100 plus members drains you. Then there is the discussion about Necro loot table and if it is actually worth it... I realize that it was upgrade, but it still lacks excitement.

Mordris and Hrungnir?
Possible the best part of the game right now... But Mord only spawning twice a week is deal killer. How do you keep a clan excited with only two events a week?

Garenek?
This was a good add for summer event but again limiting with his six hour spawn rate.

Snorri?
Occasionally, this can be fun, but a 6* on average only spawns once a day. After camping for more than a year now, the fun has ended. The only reason I camp now is out of guilt and clan loyalty. Snorri camping is not fun.

Outside of a rare boss spawn, that is where fun can be found for a plus level 190 now...
Kind of disapointing...

Where am I wrong here?
What direction should we be influencing OTM to take?

We need more aspects of the game where you can login and have fun doing a challenge.
Maybe more arcade style action?

We need something more. Currently a third of our clan has quit due to boredom. Another third only logs for Mordris. And half of the active third are annoying...

It is really hard to find fun these days...
We need more challenges for high levels.

Need variety, things to do that involve actively playing...not camping or mindless grinding.
World: Epona

Alyssandra Ranger Lvl 221
Atropos Druid Lvl 225
Nyssa Rogue Lvl 215
Briar Rose Mage Lvl 215

Lasciel Rogue Lvl 217
Owl Ranger Lvl 190
Lenore Druid Lvl 191

I could agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

100% agree game gets really boring and repetitive after 180 I'm not even going to bother to level my ranger now he's 190 camping ect is total ball ache people stand there then all start arguing causes drama I'd rather sit there for 3 hours in a black smiths banging a hammer to make my weapons stronger or sumit

The game is pretty much repetitive after you finish the stonevale quests
A proud noob of the clan Avalon :)

Only thing that makes grinding games fun is usually diff way of gameplay, different systems which are usually in pc games. Here its not possible, we need some interesting challenge that we can do constantly like mini games, i would suggest but im not quite sure what fits celtic timing.
#NerfMages #AvoidBalance #WhyPlayARogue #MeatShieldOnly #HealingSlavesOnly

OP dps warrior on Belenus, hot af melee druid on Nuada. #Elementals #Apex

Not wrong at all...
im still hung up about the fact that the are going strictly open world and no instances.
horizontal expansion... crafting, mining, fishing etc... things that can keep things creative and increase gold flow in game without the great neccesity of killing a ton of mobs just for gold. bounty board... daily challenges that have you do something for a small lump of gold or an item thats useful. actual mini games. other things to do while waiting for long endgame spawn times with unfathomable drops more than half the time. void/godly, so many people strive to earn these items and play yet sooo very very very few get.. imperials flood everywhere i see compared to godly. they should be rare... but not as exclusively rare as they are now. all in all its the little things that are added that provide entertainment other then the endless grind. in order to keep people playing people need challenging or fun things besides camping or grinding.

We need a multi server pvp event that happens daily (you can organize it into level grps, 110-120 120-130 etc where they either fight to the death, capture the flag, or some other game. Also this should be rewarding, maybe give gear only given by collecting points (kills can increase points or maybe winning the event may increase points).
