Fire mages get dex/focus because the best DPS build for a fire mage used to be (used to be meaning pre necro loot...probably still is best dps build actually but I have no necro loot to test with) H2H with no mainhand and an offhand 150 fire axe.

A downside with this build is that if you have thousands of energy sigils (2k+) and good gear to get you 4-5 50 point dps skills then you will run out of energy quite fast. You only get a few strikes in between cd on skills anyhow and you will need to take a 5 second break every 2-10 rounds of spell cd (depends on how many sigils u have).

In any case dex dosent help with dps just landing hits which you could use an attack pot for. Same goes with druids who actually use their totems.

I find that if I go full dps and use a hrung bolt skull that I literally never have time to auto. Even without the bolt skull I might only get one every now and then. Ofc if you go ice you might have more time...

The guy clicked on helm, he put on diff helm, so then the old helm info stayed, although new helm on.

Can we get confirmation of if this is a bug?

Deff is good when leveling a mage solo. Only reason i see for them adding dex. But since the dex added is so low (making the added deff so low) its kinda pointless.

That helm has lvl 190 req. I completely agree, it is annoying and im not even a mage.

The druid and ice mage helms from spider event bosses give foc/vit. So why do fire mages get stuck with dex/vit. I appreciate however, how ridiculousy bias this event is to casters. so keep that up pls!

Correct fire mage helms do not give foc, the answer lies in the fact that a fire mage can wear it without losing +5 to its DPS skill.

An ice mage can wear this (get the extra foc) to make up for the loss of +5 to blast (from DL helm)

Incorrect, both helms give focus, one just gives vit while the other gives dex. I dont know if otm thinks fire mages are surviving in a different way than ice mages or not.

Most of the 190+ mages in my clan don't even use the dl helm. They would be replacing hrungnir helms for this.
