the difficulty is how the game designers can achieve the right balance in all aspects of the game catering to players of different levels, with different levels of difficulty accessing end game boss drops and so on and preserving the social aspect of an MMO. Never easy and never going to keep everyone happy.

Definitely, the hardest part of game development is balancing. Too much to one side, the people on the other end feel like they are getting the shaft. At the end of the day, you just need to to find a system that works, at the moment it's just making event lux better than any other lux item before it (micromental changes) and adding a higher price tag. I just think a little more thought, as to what things lux items should aim to improve that are unique and significant to lux, but doesn't make any other gear gained through quests etc, obsolete. As the same for quest, event and loot gear, they should have their own distinctive stats that make it powerful and desirable.

I think if it were released once a year and had a little something for each class the lux would be a lot better. Nothing in those shops should be OP to the gear bosses drop that people work so hard to kill. Lux is and should continue to be helpful to those who do not have the luxury of being able to equip their toons with the end game items.

There are still a lot of melee class toons still using haste rings and Midnight Talis from a year ago and nothing better lux wise has come along to be good enough to enough to say it should definitely replace it. The only reason more people are not using some of the lux is because of Garanak and Comrak sets, but to be honest that is as it should be.

I am fine with all the items they have released to date, but like I said just wish they would stop trying to one up it with every event and not because of the prices, but because it is simply overkill at this point.

The best gear should be earn't, in my opinion. Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG's) are social games. In order to succeed you need to co-operate and join an affective clan to get the best loot available. Some of the best MMORPG's and even the worst MMORPG's even have this system in place. I think this game should be no different.

What's stopping you, as a player from joining another clan upon a clan collapse, or unable to join the top tier clan. You can just as easily make a clan, strive at, or join an up and coming clan. MMORPG's are all about teamwork and co-operation to reach success. But it seems in this game, especially regarding lux it has made the some of the quest gear obsolete. Quest gear or drops, should far surpass buying gear from luxury shops. Where is the teamwork in that, it doesn't traditionally fit in the ideology of an MMO.

I have to say -1 to smelly, however your ideas have good intentions - luxury shops shouldn't make event gear or any quest obtained gear obsolete. I think quest gear, event gear and loot should have the most desirable stats like resistances, maybe even some Regen, armour boosts, skill boosts. And luxury should have its own set of stats, such as armour, physical resistances, heavy regen, stat boosts and exclusive skills . This may suit the needs if such a diverse group of players, and won't render any gear obsolete, because each type of gear wether it be earn't or brought is powerful in its own unique way.

I'm just glad there is nothing to buy from the shop for a lvl 100 that would improve my charecter. I don't want to have to scrape together a ton of gold :). The best ring for a druid is the 200 defense one, and it certainly was not made with a druid in mind lol.
A Mage is like a Lamborghini, You don't get one as your first car or daily driver and there are cheaper cars that go faster and are more comfortable anyway.

i am not complaining that OTM gave us great Garanak sets. In fact, the garanak sets are the best things that otm has ever given us and I can say they are even better than necro or mordy items as the void items never dropped or are so rare unlike garanak sets which every clan member in my clan now have a set of their choice. What I am lamenting is the fact that the lux shop does not now serve the high levels with garanak sets. We like many other CH players like to spend gold and get excited when we see items in lux shop that we desire. But now we can no longer spend gold in lux shops as nothing there excites us anymore. Unless OTM addresses this in future update or events, many players may lose interest in the game. When many of us were low levels, I remembered how excited we were browsing the lux shop items and craving for them but did not have the gold to buy or the level to wear them. OTM needs to give us back that excitement which made this game great. now not even killing mordy or necro or hrungnir excites me anymore because most of the drops are banked and not useful.
The sweeping new content is going to end sometime. Better get used to it.

Behemoth ammy skill damage should mutliply. It currently does not and crushing damage is one that is supposed to

No its the exact same as sunshard, shatter effects its damage. Good enough.

the garanak sets are decent yes, but not necessary. it is completely possible to have a stronger toon than someone with a set, by having a good build and the right gear combination. while some of the new lux may be disappointing, there are other pieces that are pretty decent. to name one, the new focus ring for lvl 150s and over is a much better improvement over the yule and garanak rings. its all about personal prefence, and it takes knowledge and understanding of the game to ultimately make your toon the best he or she can be.
