the garanak sets are decent yes, but not necessary. it is completely possible to have a stronger toon than someone with a set, by having a good build and the right gear combination. while some of the new lux may be disappointing, there are other pieces that are pretty decent. to name one, the new focus ring for lvl 150s and over is a much better improvement over the yule and garanak rings. its all about personal prefence, and it takes knowledge and understanding of the game to ultimately make your toon the best he or she can be.
You may be right for caster classes, but definitely not for melee classes, specially when comparing a poison ganarak set rogue to a regular lux rogue.

I'm pretty sure if someone is level 190 and has access to a garanak set, they have plenty of knowledge and understanding of the game. You are just hoping that the person with access to event loot is a complete retard and puts their points into focus as a rogue in order for you to have a stronger toon.

Your argument is really lacking. :/

Huh? I didn't get that at all out of his/her post. Nothing was posted about a rogue putting points in focus but an example was provided about the focus ammy. Unless I missed something.

We do have 1 player on our server that is in the high 180s that happens to be a prolific plat buyer and has the best gear. They ask 'noob' questions about their class when they should have an understanding of how to play their class by their level. Because of their gear and financial resources they do well regardless of their lack of class knowledge. Yes it's an extreme example, but it does occur.

Okay yeah, of course there would be a case here and there. But in general, two people who have decent understanding of their class will be heavily differentiated between their gear.

Haven't read all the posts, but -1 OP. If the Lux items are better than my Raid Jewellery, what's the point in me wasting my time on these bosses, staying up late or waking in the middle of the night to a raid call?

If theirs excess gold, you could always buy other items.. Very rare fashion/mount, raid loot off of a clanny if your clan allows selling within, but I don't think the lux shop should sell equal gear (maybe the best loot should always be from a permanent boss though, as to not recreate the Earthstone problem, that left non-dominant clans without a hope until the new update was released.

I just thought I would say, great job on using the word "retard", it was not necessary and is extremely offensive to disabled people

Just try not to use the word as it is may offend someone, remember, kids go on this website too...
Your arguement is invalid.

I was using 'retard' in it's true definition of being 'slow' or 'lacking understanding'. If I was to be offensive, I would have just used the words 'mentally disabled'.

But I see where you're coming from, I apologise.

Fair enough, i personally don't get offended but some people might, as i said also, kids go on this site, no one really wants there 10 year old child reading this stuff...

I applaud this. I have an autistic child and my motherwas a special ed tteacher for 15 years and is now a school district dyslexic coordinator. So I hate when people use the word 'retard' loosely. Obviouslythe poster ddidn't mean it as such. I do like how cordial y'all were to each other. Refreshing to see on an Internet forum.

As much as I hate to mention this I will anyway, for those of you that want to keep event loot better than lux. OTM doesn't make this game out of the kindness of their hearts. Just like any other business, CH caters to the customers. Customer aren't the people that play this game for free. The players that have 9 lvl 195 toons that don't buy plat are irrelevant to OTM's decision making except for ideas that hopefully draw more players to the game (so they can buy plat). Having a game like this for 3 years and counting is success already but its getting harder for them to grow the content because of the cost involved. So when people say things like "I shouldn't have to pay real money for the best loot in game" its laughable. If you don't want to tip at a restaurant, eat at home. Service costs money, lots of money. Just remember that when you send a harsh note to OTM or start a thread about prices of things in the shops. This game costs money to make, maintain, and grow. Sorry to be Buzz Killington.
