No skill maxes out at 20/20 it's all relative to your own lvl how many skill points you have. Marshill has it down to an exact science I don't know the lvl and skill points spreadsheet, but I do know that you get 25/25 skills at lvl 90 soo...

Right now lvl 89's rock 20/20 skills and lvl 90's rock 25/25 getting past 89 is a big priority for everyone because it increases your skills by 5 potentially.

All that said, I think like around 115 you get 30/30 skill and etc.. So it stands to reason that you will be able to Rez, root, and bolas the people of your own level and a little bit higher just gauging by the skill points needed.

As to my own skill/stat choices.. I probably will decide those at a later date, but I personally don't see ANY point to sharing them on forums. Guys this has become a PvP game now, it's not just PvE us vs the monsters, and now I got people I want to see killed in PvP and posting my build gives them insight on how to kill me. I'm a bit too competitive for that.

I feel like I have given every Druid a solid guide as how to create their own build relative to how they want to proceed in game as a healer, lvler, PvP'er etc... I probably will proceed as a PvP/Lvl'er and aim to wreck rather than go support. There is plenty of further patching coming into game with more bosses and more otherworld content, I aim to lvl now and then switch to support later. Also.. I got a few KS'ers I aim to duel and arena and I got no end to my vengeance

Ok Spent a long time testing the Wards and during my tests One Thumb retweaked it so here we go...

Wards and their strength matter quite specifically on your Druid's Focus. But like all issues with skills & focus for Druids in Update 3, there are huge diminishing returns for added focus after a certain point.

Right now:

A lvl 1 Ward gives only 16 resist with 10 Focus (for each group member)
But..
A lvl 1 Ward gives 21 resist with 100 Focus (for each group member)
A lvl 1 Ward gives 23 resist with 200 Focus (for each group member)
And at my personal 270 focus benchmark it gives 25 resist. Per lvl 1

I make the 270 benchmark as relative to my guide, not because I aim to only use 270, but past 270 there is a marked diminishing return for all additions of Focus in terms of what a spell does added DMG/heals/effects for. I personally plan to use more than 270, but that's the fall-off in focus utility as I have studied it.

So going back to the benchmark...(it important to read this knowing that this is with 270 focus)

Lvl 2 Ward = 35 Resist (per group member)
Lvl 3 Ward = 45 Resist. (per group member)
Lvl 4 Ward = 55 Resist (per group member)
Lvl 5 Ward = 65 Resist (per group member)

After lvl 5 you go up by either 10 or 11 points per lvl. It is highly unlikely that someone will drop more than 5 points into a ward. But let's say you are a 130+ Druid and are fighting routinely vs Wyverns and Magma Golems on Lava where you take Fire DMG like no ones business.

A 25/25 Fire Ward, at 270 Focus, does 269 fire resist for the entire group. Completely negating lava DMG and making dragon fire pretty weak as well. Not saying that many Druids will pony up 25 fire ward points, but talk about a Mage Killer. (that said, Mage's have Lure's to counter but you know what I mean, especially since you can deflect their lures (depending on your Willpower) and they can't deflect your Wards since they are buffs cast by you.

The timing on the Ward has once again been nerfed to 60s, but it's a quick 2-3 sec cast and will probably stay this way in the first patch that goes server side when you update the 3rd Update.

Thank you VERY much, Mr. Weasel!

I've been looking forward to this guide since you first mentioned that you were working on it, and it certainly lived up to the expectations.

I think it is a great all-around guide for us, with hints and tips for the different builds we may choose. It will certainly take some time to get used to it all.

As a (currently) lvl 65 Druid, I will probably appologise to my clan in the short term and avoid the Rez and AoE skills, and focus on geting my toon up to a better level. I can't wait for the new damage skill (I was hoping for a Thistle Shield buff, but oh well. This isn't EQ).

One question in relation to the Warding ability: It sounds that we will first need to get/train the ability, and then the leveling will begin, correct? Fighting Stonevale Druids on day one of the update will do nothing in learning/upping the skill, yes?

Hi TeaW

Thanks for the detailed guide. Its been really helpful for all inspired druids.

Couple of questions:

1) AOE damage - Is this used by bosses only or with normal creatures as well?
2) Bard vs Ward Soldiers, Assassins & Giants - In theory, a single bark with 270 focus on a tank shld work better than group ward for slash, pierce, or crush. But I guess it really depends on the number of bosses / creatures that uses aoe and frequency of the skill.

What do you think?
MorphMarfa has retired from Celtic Heroes and most probably wont be resurfacing. He had a enjoyable time during his druid adventures in Taranis.

Correct. I think there are now Shrines in Lir's where you need to pray to get the abilities, this is subject to change, but I think this is the way to get the abilities. Once you get them you will be a 0/650 or whatever and begin the slow ride up to competency. A Druid/Mage casting in you in PvP or. A Druid/Mage mob will increase the ability if we are talking about Warding.

1>. I think this is correct. Although a Loremaster casting Fire Orb may splash you and your group, not totally sure. I know that bosses like Fellfire definately splash anything near the tank, including and interrupting Druids.

2>. I tend to agree that a Good Bark probably trumps a good Ward. That said, in like PvP where you can Ward yer entire group against Piercing in an arena where Rangers and Rogues will be many...that is gonna beat a Bark pound for pound in that you can resist raise the entire group with a 3 sec spell.
