Like I said 10lvl below boss rule hasn't stopped melee classes from leveling to reach the requirements. Many druids have also showed it's not impossible to make it to 190 and further. Dont't think there would be need to flip requirements up nor down once it was 10lvl below boss rule even if the next event boss was harder.
Would be nice to know those players opinion on the topic also who don't have druid alts and so aren't clearly biased. Don't need to be sherlock to tell players with druid alts aren't too eager to level them high when there's a chance for an easy way out with minimal level and minimal work... Though there are always few exceptions. (For example Samear has done a great job in leveling even though it wasn't her first character)
Basedshaft you might as well have not posted at all if you have nothing to say about this topic.
Re: Druid reqs for 200
#22Fry, it does not appear that you understand everyone else's points, maybe just don't care. It is by far the hardest, longest, and most costly to level a druid to 190+ compared to every other class, including mages. There is also no clear advantage for bossing to limit the level of a druid to -10 levels below boss level. Most 180+ druids have similar if not the same healing power as 190+ druids. I understand you want to make everything consistent, however, making the level requirement 190 for every class is counter intuitive to the actual need of our server. There are currently what, 12 druids on Lugh that are level 190+, 4 of which are active? I don't see the point of 20-40 other players having to waste their time to wait on these few people when we have others who can heal just as well. DPS requirements are -10 levels compared to boss levels because beyond that point the ability to add value to the boss fight diminishes and basically makes those players irrelevant to the overall battle. My more specific vote would be to keep druid levels at 180+ for all raid bosses, and everyone else 190. I justify mages being 190 as most are DPS and on every raid fight there will be at least 1 mage who is 190+ who would be willing to change to support for the fight. Either that or Daw is present.Like I said 10lvl below boss rule hasn't stopped melee classes from leveling to reach the requirements. Re: Druid reqs for 200
#23Hmmm why too low? 5 levels is lenient enough in my view. Check rankings we have 18 druids over 185 and 14 which are 190 and up. There is no lack, imo.
As far as to cost of leveling and it being the hardest class to play that will depend on the player. We don't play the same way, your experience may be comparable but not the same to mine. I know that my druid is a noob at 155 but i have no prob leveling it and would rather earn the respect of other players when I reach appropriate level requirement rather than insist on joining fights (i shall find free time i swear!).
This topic was opened for discussion...each may have an agenda for what they are pushing. Made me check rankings and understood some of it. Hard to be impartial, very hard.
5 levels below is but right, we acknowledge the efforts you put in to getting ur druids to the level they are and we value the contributions. Hoping you extend the same courtesy to all others classes that leveled and also exerted their efforts to get 190. 10 levels below is way too much. if you feel so strongly about this. go halfkill for ur friends. 5 levels is just a couple of hours for a justly cause, im sure ur willing to invest time for ur valiant ideals.
TL;DR 185+ for druids to join 200 fights

Re: Druid reqs for 200
#24Has anyone seen Spigot????
No. He's 193 and hasn't played since umm maybe April or May. It's October now. Druids are not handicapped and shouldn't be treated as such. With the available tank gear and relative ease of the boss the Druid level should be common level. Reward all the druids that reached 190+ don't make them regret it.

Re: Druid reqs for 200
#25I dont understand why lvl 190's should be rewarded, there isnt a great difference between 180s and 190s, the only difference is a few skill points, a small amount of points in each skill effect and thats pretty much it. The druids still are just as effective at 180 as they are at 190. But for the purposes of this boss. Druids should be 15 levels below no more no less. And no i dont meet that req, im not saying that for the purposes of me still being able to dice. Im simply saying that because i believe its what is fair in terms of a druids role, compared to the other classes.

Re: Druid reqs for 200
#26I'm not a druid but the standard extra 5 level cushion for druids seems reasonable here (i.e., 185 req for druids). Same for all other raid bosses and DL as far as I know.

Re: Druid reqs for 200
#27Considering their role during a boss fight, I don't have an issue with 5 extra levels. My perspective is to find a steady consistent level req and stick with it. Im seeing this debate relating more to drop acquisition rather than usefulness of the toons. every other class has to push higher levels to be eligible and druids get a break. Some people only try for minimum reqs and it breeds laziness. Couldn't rogues argue that Expose helps, double att and sneaky always hit so why not drop req for them? Natures touch and bark shouldn't be an excuse. This could go either way I guess....
Re: Druid reqs for 200
#28Double and sneaky are nerfed depending on your level in comparison to the boss, nature's touch is not. The whole point of this discussion is to cater to the couple of *ACTIVE* druids above 190 who want to accumulate a large sum of drops.Considering their role during a boss fight, I don't have an issue with 5 extra levels. Re: Druid reqs for 200
#29For melee classes, 10 level below the boss makes sense due to the damage nerf.
However, Nat. Touch doesn't suffer from such a nerf, so 15 levels below the boss is fine for Druids.

Re: Druid reqs for 200
#30Well if you really think about it, it is good that this discussion was opened. It gives us a clearer picture of the standards we set for boss kills.
Whatever you choose to support in this thread, you will make someone unhappy. (You can't please everyone, heck some can't please anyone)
Let me share what i think... (these are my opinions, feel free to bash if you're itching to do so )
200 is easy that three druids will suffice for a boss so there is NO LACK as others might try to make it appear. (If you don't wanna wait, if there is ever a need to wait, then log off. Lowering the standards of level requirements for the mere reason that drops can be equipped by or used by a lower one is weak sauce. If you use this argument, then all level 150+ up can join snorri because he can drop things they can use.)
This is why you make STANDARDS so we avoid contentions on how to go about boss kills all the time.
It is also the reason why players spend time to level up. So, that they may become ELIGIBLE for these bosses. This is the REWARD/PRIZE of levelling up in my opinion. You pride yourself that you worked your a** to MEET the STANDARD level required for a specific boss. Don't insult others' hardwork by lowering the standard too much. If you say the people ELIGIBLE are being GREEDY same can be said to those NOT MEETING LEVEL REQUIREMENT, you are being greedy by not putting that extra 5 levels and just wanna free ride.
5 levels is already a break... 5 more is just plain opportunistic.
