Actually the golden rule http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Rule predates the bible by almost two thousand years as documented in written history. It was incorporated (plagiarized) into the bible along with many contemporary myths of the time.

Since it relies on pre-school logic it's undoubtedly been around for tens of thousands of years before the Egyptians or Chinese documented it.

It's pretty surprising how many people employ logic against others but fail to apply that same logic to themselves. Having the intellectual honesty to do that is what distinguishes children from adults.
1. From a biblical standpoint the world is 6000 years old but in the Bible it also says that one breath is like a man's life in God's eyes. But from the Bible Adam and Eve were the first humans on earth and when they ate the forbidden fruit they were given knowledge that they otherwise would not have known. So essentially there were no cave men or stuff like that. Because the first humans were on the earth for a total of about 6000 years according to the Bible.
First off it is patently ridiculous that the earth is 6000 years old. To believe the account of bronze age goat herders likely with advanced syphilis infections over the staggering mountains of factual evidence you can see touch taste hear and smell is unbelievable. There are whole cultures older than this nonsense you are even being racist and culturally insensitive by denying their existence or contributions to the human race. I mean for gods sake you can count the tree rings on many trees older than this lmafo.
2. Also you could also say from other religions that their teaching say to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. So why target the Bible?
If you read any posts in this thread you would see this was falsely attributed to the bible when it obviously pre dates the old testament by quite some time and had been developed by most cultures around the world at one point or another
3. Your last statement is SOOOOO ironic its not even funny. You employ logic on us and what we are supposed to do yet you are a complete *** , and douchebag , do i have to further list more things to describe you?
So in the face of facts and cited information you simply resort to ad homenim. Am I an ahole for telling you your religious views are so misinformed they aren't even wrong? Possibly. That dosent stop it from being true. Your reality denial just hurts yourself and those around you. Reality is what it is regardless of how hard you stick your head in the sand.

Personally I'd pull your head outta there before you do something insanely stupid like not vaccinating your children.

This topic is really about gaming ethics and tactics. Sometimes they do not mix. A good tactic like farming in an area where your enemies lix may not seem ethical but perfectly legit. Common courtesy is not so common in a game. In fact, one can argue it does not apply in a game. This is a virtual world not real life. You do not get death sentence killing countless people in arena. But that does not mean u kill indiscriminately. Kill only selectively and do not kill the innocent. Innocent means someone who is not in your rival clan who are out to get you banned or who harbours traitors from my clan. Sometimes that means kill everyone who is not in your clan. Farm in areas where your enemies lix. Inflicting pain and frustration on your enemies in a game is part of the strategy to stay strong. It so happens my clan and I are strong and we dominate the server. It could have been the other way round. But we deserve to dominate because of our commitment, unity, teamwork and strong leadership. And I could have been at the other end of the stick. And this could happen if a rival clan becomes dominant. So, we do what we must to thwart our arch enemies in the game subject to otm game rules, to prevent our enemies advancing in the game. Not easy but we try hard. As a clan we make sure we r united and help each other. We whip the slackers and free riders once a while but we still love them like parents who cane their children for their own good. Occasionally we have traitors but that is fine. Part and parcel of life. Just need to deal with it as part of the game. Never be too philosophical about ethics in a game. Know what you are in it for. Do what you like. But whatever you do expect what you will get. Then you can enjoy the game wholeheartedly. And Celtic heroes is one awesome game. Back to farming where my enemies lix and making sure they do not get their gladiators. Be a kid, let loose your beasty killing instinct, be a fiery Celtic Hero! Or you can choose to be a good farmer like me.

Smelly, is your argument that because you cannot be punished for doing bad things then it is ok to do it?

Punished? What did i do wrong to deserve punishment? What otm game rule did i break? You get punished only when you break rules.

Sorry, but these tactics are crossing the boundaries.

There is something called game ethics. You can't simply call this game a virtual world when you play this 5+ hours a day, call in sick for school/work for that reset, or stay up until 3 am just to kill Mord. Im sure that if rival clans are respected just a tad bit, they will see what they are doing wrong and stop reporting your accounts.

You want to be known as a great player by the time you quit, not the player who used to ruin the gameplay of others.

I didn't say you broke any rule.

In fact I asked a question but maybe it wasn't clear enough.

You ruin the game experience for some other people much weaker than you by farming where they lix. You write that it "may not seem ethical but is perfectly legit". You are quite right that it is legit in the sense that it do not break any OTM rules.

I believe ruining the ability to lix for other players is doing "bad things".

Your post seem to suggest that because we cannot be punished for hurting other peoples game experience or feeling or whatever then it is perfectly ok to do whatever we like. No common courtesy is required because it is a game.

I hope I am misunderstanding something.

Things are not so straightforward as they appear nor can the complex situation of the clan rivalry be fully explained or understood. You need to know the history of Arawn and evolution of the clans to know what is going on between the dominant clan and the rival clan that was set up to destroy us. Then you will understand what all these tactics are all about and their necessity. I shall end my posting here. Let others judge us by our actions and likewise we shall judge others by theirs. Amd we do what is needed to protect our clan's interest.

You missed a point. God created all Earth and, the very first animals, plants, and humans as adults. Meaning, Adam and Eve were both adults, including all the trees, rocks, etc, etc, etc.
Also, some people say 6,000 years, some say 10,000 or 15,000. I personally think its 10,000 and not 6,000

I know this is off topic, but Im just pointing that out....
