This topic is really about gaming ethics and tactics. Sometimes they do not mix. A good tactic like farming in an area where your enemies lix may not seem ethical but perfectly legit. Common courtesy is not so common in a game. In fact, one can argue it does not apply in a game. This is a virtual world not real life.
@OP, please answer this:

If your rival clan was killing necro, and suppose they had the power to kill it before rage, would you go stand within the life steal range? Maybe bring some friends along to eat more life steals?

Because that is actually a tactic. Enough lifesteal griefers at necro can and has thwarted many a necro raid.

And it's also not against the rules. OTM won't ban you for taking life steals at necro because that is how the game works. They also won't ban you for ruining someone's lix.
And it also prevents the rival clan from getting stronger. So does ruining your rival clan's lix.

So, would you grief the necro raid? Yes/no?[/quote
A few have come and taken lifesteals as well as pull spirits after which we started killing them in arena. Pulled adds total 3 times at garanak 6. Tried(failed)to reset comrak 5 times. Mass reported half the clan to get them banned succeeding with some, after which ppl did what smelly is talking abt.

There is a lot of things to be said but a lots been said already.
I being in the rival clan he speaks of wouldn't ever do this to any of his members regardless of clan its just common courtesy which we do show.
Rest assured most accusations are exaggerated greatly. Also im speaking for myself only will not ever tamper with any rival clans boss and be assured that isn't tolerated within our clan. I really didn't want to be the person to post on the topic but im outspoken sue me. lol
imo the server is big enough for us all were all there were all not going anywhere , we all see each other ( digitally ofc) for multiple hours a day sometimes just get used to it and show the same common courtesy that is given to you.

This is a game, played for fun, trying your best to make others' game experience as miserable as possible in an mmorpg is borderline sociopathic. Healthy, respectful competition can exist. Ethics come into play in any social system, virtual or not, there are real people behind their toons, believe it or not.

I would completely disagree with the "sociopathic" comment seeing as I know there are a handful of people on our server alone who only play the game to trash talk and "cause a scene" an yes healthy, respectful competition can exist, however with the history of our server that is out of the question and there are a handful of players to thank for that.

I'm curious who this rival clan is. Is lix sabotage only happening to those in the rival clan? Whether justified or not, revenge only ever seems to escalate any issue in life. Not saying I agree either way but I can see it from both sides. In general though, people have always had an unspoken courtesy regarding lix in my in-game encounters.

Yep.
@OP , i have few things i wanna say to u :

1. Just because OTM doesnt do anything against griefing it doesnt mean u should do that, OTM also doesnt really handle scammers, are u going to scam? Or perhaps u have done that already? (Excuse me for my questions being so direct, i would rather show u the worst to make u understand something like that).

2. U said that we cant speak without knowing the history of Arawn, if so, why did u post this thread? Did u look for us to justify u?

3. In order to make ur post objective u need to explain us what u know and we dont know and not present it as if u just logged out for few hours and ur simply farming because its legit, while there are multiple places to lvl at any range of lvl, there are more places to farm at, so im assuming u had a reason behind this.

4. Griefing isnt the same as killing, also i believe u dont kill ur rivals just so they wont get their gladiators, u prob kill them regardless if they need their glad or not (which is ok by some) so i dont think ur using tactic here, if anything i dont think ur using a reason more than ur using ur instinct, eye for eye is pretty much what ur doing, while it is fair and legit u cant speak bad of someone griefing u if u grief them back.

Common courtesy is not so common in a game. In fact, one can argue it does not apply in a game. This is a virtual world not real life. You do not get death sentence killing countless people in arena. But that does not mean u kill indiscriminately. Kill only selectively and do not kill the innocent. Innocent means someone who is not in your rival clan who are out to get you banned or who harbours traitors from my clan. Sometimes that means kill everyone who is not in your clan. Farm in areas where your enemies lix. Inflicting pain and frustration on your enemies in a game is part of the strategy to stay strong. It so happens my clan and I are strong and we dominate the server. It could have been the other way round. But we deserve to dominate because of our commitment, unity, teamwork and strong leadership. And I could have been at the other end of the stick. And this could happen if a rival clan becomes dominant. So, we do what we must to thwart our arch enemies in the game subject to otm game rules, to prevent our enemies advancing in the game. Not easy but we try hard. As a clan we make sure we r united and help each other. We whip the slackers and free riders once a while but we still love them like parents who cane their children for their own good. Occasionally we have traitors but that is fine. Part and parcel of life. Just need to deal with it as part of the game. Never be too philosophical about ethics in a game. Know what you are in it for. Do what you like. But whatever you do expect what you will get. Then you can enjoy the game wholeheartedly. And Celtic heroes is one awesome game. Back to farming where my enemies lix and making sure they do not get their gladiators. Be a kid, let loose your beasty killing instinct, be a fiery Celtic Hero! Or you can choose to be a good farmer like me.
This ties well into my griefing thread that was moved to rants. :roll:

That which does not strengthen you weakens you. LEtting a rival group level and grow only provides them withthe power to one day take you down. I've seen it. Kill them all.

It's ONLY griefing if you're doing it purely for enjoyment. If you're doing something for strategic reasons, it's NOT griefing.
A griefer is a player in a multiplayer video game who deliberately irritates and harasses other players within the game, using aspects of the game in unintended ways.[1] A griefer derives pleasure primarily or exclusively from the act of annoying other users, and as such is a particular nuisance in online gaming communities, since griefers often cannot be deterred by penalties related to in-game goals.[2]

@Crim
I have no idea why Smelly posted this. When I first read it, I cringed a little because I knew no good would come of it. If I had to speculate though I think the post was made out of frustration. I don't enjoy Arawn right now either. If you want to know what is going on right now is that my clan is dealing with a bunch of belligerent jerks right now, who will grief and insult you until you are at your breaking point. When you do finally break and defend yourself, these people will turn around and report you to OTM for whatever you have just done. And OTM will always take their side over our clan. It is getting very frustrating, and has made me lose a lot of faith in OTM support resolving anything because they favor the rival clan over ours. They even return accounts to people who have been blatantly sharing their accounts. Here's an example of what a clan member received after defending himself from insults in the arena:
