Re: Death Penalty

I still don't see the logic in not giving a killer a death sentence, once they are paroled and start taking lives again, who will we to blame? Will we then say oh they were just mentally disturbed after more deaths of innocent people.
I specifically said there could be sentence to life with no possibility of parole.
But then we are wasting up prison space and resources for people who possibly enjoy killing. Those spaces should be for people that commit crimes which are far less excruciating than murder.

Why does everyone have to talk about money :/
How can you want to kill someone just because keeping him alive costs money ?
Space is a problem. But I think that giving criminals time to possibly understand and regret what they did is worth it.

Oh I'm sure you can cut down costs from other crap ventures the government parttakes in (i.e NSA surveillance) and dedicate that money to expanding prison resources.

The money/resource argument is not really valid imo, with all due respect.
The money isn't so much a problem its just a issue raised why should we pay for Rapists serial killers mass murderes genocidists warlords etc to stay alive in a tiny room being fed to keep them alive Until they die in that room when we can just give them a death and have it done with and use that tax payer money for better uses like saving lives in hospitals, curing cancer, going to third world countries, if they feel remorse at the end it Dosent make a difference life without parole means you will never get out of prison unless u make an escape attempt

Its not the money, its the principle. If u sentence him for life, u dont really give him a reason to change, hes sentenced for life. If hes sentenced for life, why should I pay on someone just to see him stuck in a small cell until he dies? Waste of money and worse than a death sentence.

I have no good answer to that. I'd rather die than be sentenced for life.
but there is still a hope that some people can understand what they did. It wouldn't help them to get out of jail. But they would be free to think about what they did, to understand why it is bad and to forgive themselves. Because many people aren't psychopaths.
One thing more : if someone has a family, are you sure he would rather die than live in prison, hoping to see them sometimes ?
The problem is that none of the two solutions ( death or life in jail ) is perfect, and that there are bad points in both.

I know If it was someone in my family who committed any of the things above without a decent reason the only reason I'd ever visit them is to say how disgusted I am and how they brought shame upon the whole family

Everyone is different x) I'd go talk to him to understand why he did this, think about the reason and then, if it was a " good " ( there is never a good reason to commit a crime ) I'd try to forgive him, because it would be probably already hard enough for him to live with this guilt.

That's not completely true, injust laws have happened in the past and there probably will be a few injust laws in the future until they are removed. It's the basis for civil disobediance. Ik what you mean though.

Also, you all argue that killing a murderer makes you no better than the person but I'd rather see murderers die at the hands of an organized gov't than murder from a bunch of emotional outbursts made by families of the victims wanting revenge, this escalates the crime because the murderer may not have been proven guilty, but since the family knows that either way the murderer would live, they might take it upon themselves to kill them.
