@Teaweasel: yes, of course I will help them and I always hide that fact that they may start to tick me off after a while. Every user starts off as equal but there are some that persist in begging etc. I never ignore them or anything and tell them in a euphemistic kind of way that they should start to become independent a little bit more. :)
I have to admit, I'm a bit of a noob myself sometimes.

And thanks ^. I may just join RaptureEve if worlds ever merge :D
Thats exactly what i do :D prime examples.. Akai and Zaphire... met them when they were "noobs" helped em out quite a bit and look at em now :) theyre awesomer xD

I apogize, maybe I'm not being clear. I have no issue with anyone telling a noob they are being annoying. As long as it's not a: "Noob yer annoying, stop it.". And then that's it. I always tell people when they piss me off or annoy me (Big Surprise I know  ). But the point is, explain why. Just explain how over talking in clan or group or say or over asking for crap is just a freaking drain. Bc it totally is, and if they kid doesn't change, after numerous warnings please do kick or block, however your crew needs to handle it.

I'm not looking to start a noob welfare system where we help out morons no matter what. I'm just looking for the well intentioned noobs to be taught and helped with the knowledge of how to not be a noob. If they don't accept it, screw 'em.

Tea-

While in other mmo's I have played the approach you mentioned is the best one, I have found that in this mmo it doesn't work that well and is a waste of time.

I spent over an hour working with one of our so labeled noob friends on our server. After that hour the response I got from him was" that makes it seem like I have to work for things that's not my personality can you just give me some gold. ". I felt like I had just wasted an hour of my life.

Another instance just a week ago I tried to reach out to a player on our server that after he failed on the competition decided to stay on the server. After seeing him spam over and over on the shout network I grouped with him and offered to help teach him some etiquette. We grouped and after a while he said thanks then went back to spam begging, and further more constantly whispered me asking to borrow this ammy or that weapon.

My conclusion is that we have a lot of noobs and that when they have legitimately worked to get to level 80 we will say I have very little patience for them now. I will still help a quester kill fellfire but for me the reality is I worked my way up. I may have been new to the game but my parents taught me a long time ago that if I want something I have to earn it. No one has helped me level or handed anything out to me an I have never asked for any either. These noobs are a product of their own personality more than they are a product of the community

Wow you guys believe you are so elite keep believing that and that day will come when all your comrade will retire or semi-retire , leavin you to try to play with all the newbies who by them will hate your guts making you old obsolete player, if u help raise a noob you are helpig grow the game and the community inside the game yes veteran ppl can make a lvl 80 char in matter of days with all your lux items and dualing or by playin with your credit apple, but is a bit. Disrespectful to call a lvl 60+ a noob , easy to get confused the evil in stone vale quest make u believe. The you only got kill fellfire and is the only quest avalaible after u beat Shalemont quest ,you guys forgot that,
And we the elites players keep killing those mobs for what to hord disk ?
we all got full ancient , and upgrade warden and finnish all quest on game ,but we are so full ourselves we think we have to sell frags to newbies to make gold,if we don't invite those new players to killing parties cause we are afraid they may steal the drops that we don't need anyways, and then we complain. Because te only way for then to get it lvl 60+ is buying it of us elite players. So don't be so full of yourself .

I hate how this community puts noob behaviour on the Noob, and not on the community.

You know how you solve all that behaviour that you hate? You take the time to talk to someone, you let them know that spamming and begging and all that behaviour is really poor server etiquette and will get you quickly blocked. You give examples of good behaviour, you instruct how people can learn how to enter into the community and not shoot themselves in the foot on a behaviour level. You take the time to educate and instruct and not simply act aloof and elite, like you weren't EXACTLY like that a number of months ago.

Here's the fact. This game caters to VERY few MMO veterans. Sure some exist, some know how to act and how to play their dynamic group role, but most of everyone are indeed total noobs. It's the nature of a Free2Play game. Looking down on people like you are somehow cooler and better because you don't step in and guide people in laughable to me. And I'm not just talking to the people on this thread, I am talking to this entire community.

I personally enjoy making fun of really selfish people on shout, but I do take the time to talk to people who spam or beg me. It's largely a thin line between taking the time to block the obvious bad eggs, and helping the people who are just unknowledgable.

Sure some people are meant to be blocked, some people are morons and can't be taught, but looking at every Noob as that awful block able player is disgusting, and with the advent of a new update and a noob friendly game. You all need to change your attitudes, because its all disgusting.

I have never seen such a clever comment like that since forevero.O i guess i'll TRY to be friendly :?
