Ppl used to cry about wanting a new engine and more updates all the time... Could an admin please bump some old threads and remind everyone?
We havent seen "more updates" yet. Remains to be seen if OTM can actually push content updates more than once a year.

It would have cost OTM very little to keep the old servers up. In fact due to issues the game has hemmoraged players.

Imo the best action would have been to copy everyone to the new engine as they did but release it as a new game under a separate title. Then keep the old servers with no updates and only improve the new engine. This would have likely kept the most people happy and playing and at the same time allowed for future expansion.

Many of the people who would have stayed aren't playing or helping with end game bosses anyhow. So it wouldn't be much of an issue.

Also you may chose to think of those who can't play or who are having a bad experience over your own desire to easily beat end game bosses.

i still think the engine was prematurely released. We all know by now 'OTM suck at deadlines, they trapped themselves by promising us a new engine that would allow them to add much more horizontal content. The engine release being so delayed meant that we went for far too long without any new permanent content making everyone edgy and some players quit. Beta also sucked. very little otm-player interaction compared to the previous dragonfire beta, and many players (including myself) ended up unavailable to test leaving a very small group to test.

so in the end, an unfinished engine with the intent of fixing the game broke the game until otm can fix it but we got stuck waiting for apple to approve an update over the winter holidays...

what caused this whole issue? IMO it was the release of android platform before updating ios. Yes it was easier to stress test on android because of open beta but this set IOS back months further than it already was. And odds are at this point, the release would have been just as buggy but we would have had fixes implemented more quickly due to it not being the holidays.





My message to OTM; we love you, but you suck terribly with deadlines. Please. NEVER. multitask platform development again. It was a mistake to start work on a new platform before finishing it on the previous platform where you already had dedicated cutomers

While im glad and annoyed by new engine, I think the best solution would be if they would release it later, but idk what happened in beta. All we can do really is wait, its OTM who need to beat the clock.
