#22Beautifully said Curry and omg this is so sad. Your right on how suicide should never have to be an option. Sadly didn't get the help needed. Horrible if didn't get the support to not believe what was written in her note. Everyone deserves love.So ur basically saying transgender people are not human? They have feelings, emotions, things they want and don't want, they have likes and dislikes; in fact they are human just like us. Does appearance really determine that? I feel that transgenders and people like that are left out of society or feel they don't fit in and That's wrong. Everyone should feel like they fit in regardless of their looks. I feel like the decision of suicide should never be an option. Leelah Alcorn in my opinion should not have felt the way He/she did. However i wouldn't know that feeling unless I went through it, which I haven't. Nonetheless I do hope his/her family is able to recover from their loss. It really must be hard to lose a loved one.

#23You, sir, are the perfect example of an arrogant douch.Think of the damage done to the truck
What if this person was your mother, what if it was your father? Your siblings? Suicide is not something to be joked about. I would continue on my rant but I need to go. You get my point.
Your arguement is invalid.

#24Homosexuality is not natural at all. There's a reason the males and females of most species are the ones to reproduce. Studies show homosexuality is not developed and is born with. Wouldn't that make it a birth defect? Wasting time reproducing with the same gender clearly won't work so I assume evolution has tried it's best to prevent this(which would explain why homosexuals are far and few between compared to straight people). I mean I could be wrong, but it's just my thought process. It depends on how you define a freak. If you mean something unnatural, transexuals and homosexuals definitely fall into an unnatural/freak category.being a transsexual, not a tranny, is a choice. however, it is not choice that makes a male or female person feel uncomfortable in the body they were born with. it is not "freak" any more than being gay is and to suggest as much demonstrates ignorance and bigotry.
homosexuality is natural, as it naturally occurs in all species

#25Perhaps it is a 'defect' however it is still natural, you would consider albino people natural too right? How about gingers?

Re: Silence for Leelah Alcorn
#26Not made or caused by humans, so it is by definition unnatural not that I have anything against it I'm just saying that's what it's defined as on paper.
Re: Silence for Leelah Alcorn
#27I just googled the definition of natural. Scroll down to number 2 lol. Yeah, nature screws up. Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. It isn't "normal"(if that's the technical term you want to use). Albino is a defect. I don't believe hair color is a defect(maybe red hair is? I don't know honestly).Perhaps it is a 'defect' however it is still natural, you would consider albino people natural too right? How about gingers?

Re: Silence for Leelah Alcorn
#28Defect by definition sure, but defect is notmal on mature as is mutation. There is nothing wrong with homosexuality, red hair, pale skin, or having a transgender mindset
Transgender and transsexual are different btw, sex and gender are not the same thing. Sex is your anatomy, gender is a social status and image

#29I'm a little confused and admittedly ignorant on this matter and researching on it didn't help change my initial disgust much...so...
Is it wrong of me to not accept transgenders, with or without altered body-parts, as I would a "normal" person? From my point of view they are still abnormal. Surely I can't completely eradicate my uneasiness around them. Couldn't I just remain silent and well...let them pass by if they happen to appear in my sight?
PS: It feels awkward to discuss this on a topic named after a dead girl; if someone would create a separate topic, that would be great.

#30Thing is, most of the time you dont know a person is transgender. You can be a male woman or a female man. As i said sex is not genderI'm a little confused and admittedly ignorant on this matter and researching on it didn't help change my initial disgust much...so...
