You should have druids in every melee group. Rangers and mages can move out of the way easily, rogues can too if they are willing to run a lot.

We've had a lot of feedback with the new idols and are testing changes to make them percentage based rather than a set amount of health an energy based on your feedback. We'll be balance testing these changes during the Tower beta.

I agree, and I think part of the reason for the pain is that people aren't prepared to cope with the changes such as
1) not enough druids in the world to put one in every group
2) people don't have evasions maxed

But I think that if OTM keeps regular idols in place they should
1) look into making druids easier to level and/or give people a reason to group level druids rather than solo rainbow lix to bring up the druid population
2) make it easier to level evasion abilities

The purpose of the new idols is to generate more revenue for OTM. By limiting your ressurected health with the new idols, you will use more idols. You can not boss without idols, since they are an integral part of the game.

By nerfing idols, OTM is guaranteed an increase in revenue. Even if you don't spend money to buy plat for idols, you'll still need to buy idols from another player, who bought plat.

The bottom line for any game developer who utilizes In-App Purchases, is to generate revenue. Even if it comes at an unfair cost to the players.

Also just my quick 2 cents on what people say.
A) limiting zerging it matters because it doesn't occur NEARLY as often anymore. Look at Mordy or Necro or Hrung or even 200, 98% of eg bosses I haven't seen being zerged in a long time until their recent buff. Also as long as there ARE idola you could argue zerging will ALWAYS be possible so I'm not even sure what you're trying to argue or say. Point is zerging WONT be completely eliminated and the death penalty limit DPS and zerging by quite a lot.

B) yes having more druids is most likely the best and easiest answer, however druids are also arguably THE WORST class to level up. Not many people want to play druids because they don't find it fun and not everyone can dual device and make a second character. Simply saying just make more druids is a relatively unrealistic answer especially for lower populated servers. More needs to be changed with the current idols and game mechanics than simply forcing players to make druids. Forcing players to play in a fashion they don't want to is not a good way to run a game

I took the ancient idols off all my toons and after having used for a few weeks now I can see how they are definitely weak for any player that has not heavily invested in sigils. Maybe 50% health would be a more acceptable level, which would still allow for a death penalty and not be as OP as the ancient idols were.

So it seems once again that the whiners have managed to once again win out, and now instead of fixing the real problem of being able to zerg bosses rather than having a sound strategy and a proper assortment of classes at a boss they only make zerging easier. This change will also reduce the value of the Ancient idols that I stocked up on due to the heads-up that OTM provided to all of us that the idols were going to be changed. If you are going to once again be changing the idols, then I expect to be compensated for the gold and plat that I used to stockpile the idols I have. Do you have any plans to do anything for the people that planned ahead OTM, or have you not considered this point?

The original post wasn't even about zerging. It was about being able to play the game how it's meant to be played. If you have to waste 10 play just to fly to a boss or your lvling spot that's different then zeeging for a boss... And a lot of people just bought every idol they could so they could resell and make a profit off of a game change. It is for the better if they change it don't be sour because u most likely tried to scam the system and over sell old idols. And if u actually bought them to use they will still be better then new idols because as Wulver said they are thinking of doing a percentage of health not full health like ancient idols give
