It would ruin things like that and as mentioned before I don't expect thing to ever happen. However I also believe it would be better overall for the economy. Is it really fair for there to be only one item existant of its kind in a server and for no one else to be able to obtain it? Not at all, and even though it would suck for people like you who do have the only item I believe it's only fair and would be best if there were more opportunities/items available for people to have if they really want. As it is now it's almost like each server has its own monopolies. Like you have your monopoly on that sparkly lanrik and could charge whatever you want for it. Say someone else comes along and REALLY wants it, but it's no longer obtainable and you're unwilling to sell it. Sure no one is always going to be able to get what they want but I just think it'd be better economically overall if there were more of certain items like that and being able to switch between servers would be one way to solve thatIt will ruin individual economies
For example, i have the only sparkle pink lanrik shirt on morrigan. I bought that for 1m just after the event and wouldnt sell it for 100m now
It immidiately stops being special when someone from a server where there are 10 can join morrigan with theirs
Servers have different amounts of every non purchased item and every server has a different micro economy.
Another example, what if somebody from a server where dl drops are cheap and traded freely bought up as many as he could, then switched to a server where there is heavy competition for those drops, they are rarely sold and go for a very high price. He now sells them and gets very rich by exploiting the system
Platinum items, Gold, no trade items, and vendor purchased items should be the only thing to move with you. So yes you can keep your full dl, but you cant bring your purple crowns or sparkling lanrik
Re: Formal world transfer system: pros, cons, and thoughts
#82Someone at one point suggested making gold across account like plat, instead of per individual toon like now. This would be the simplest way to let us transfer as we may have to start again on a new world but can at least bring millions of gold to help the new economy and to gear yourself. People now try to find someone else willing to start over on thier old server to trade with but it is so risky.

Re: Formal world transfer system: pros, cons, and thoughts
#83There shouldnt be any world transfering allowed, not even gold. Even with gold it would cause world problems, heres 2 of my reasons. (#1)If alot of people transfered their gold to one server it would tilt all the prices, making the rich server's stuff more expensive and the poorer servers' stuff cheaper, and it would throw economys in chaos. (#2) Some worlds have more gold then others, if you had 5m in a rich server and moved to a poorer server you could buy alot more then in your normal world, which isn't fair.
Im in both situations. I own the only yellow sultans carpet on lugh, but i know ill never get a white sultans carpet because none exist here. It's not a good thought knowing ill never own a white carpet, but as being the owner of a unique item i know that it would be very unfair if a rare items value was tarnished because of transfers. Is it really fair for there to be only one item existant of its kind in a server and for no one else to be able to obtain it? Not at all, and even though it would suck for people like you who do have the only item I believe it's only fair and would be best if there were more opportunities/items available for people

Re: Formal world transfer system: pros, cons, and thoughts
#84Nothing will ever be completely fair in the game. I don't think it's fair that we are not able to obtain certain items that ios has because ios has been around longer.
I don't understand the don't have server transfers and bring items or gold because someone might also have am item that you have. It just seems a very selfish and greedy reason to deny an opportunity that many want.

#85Alot of the time, items are wanted because they are rare, and we pay big prices for rare things. Picture this, say theres 3 purple party hats on a server, and say they go around 1m each. And 2 of the hats were bought recently for 1m each, then 10 more appear in the world and sell for 200k each. Those 2 people earlyer lose 800k each, without doing anything, and that would just be wrong. It's not so much of not wanting others to have your item, its the fact of how much it will drop its value and make you lose. You should not have to live in fear when holding a rare item.I don't understand the don't have server transfers and bring items or gold because someone might also have am item that you have. It just seems a very selfish and greedy reason to deny an opportunity that many want.

Re: Formal world transfer system: pros, cons, and thoughts
#86Besides the camo charm, why do you want the old iOS, obsolete, but rare items? Because they are rare or no longer available? What makes them valuable? They're useless in today's gear standards.Nothing will ever be completely fair in the game. I don't think it's fair that we are not able to obtain certain items that ios has because ios has been around longer.
Items have a virtual value based on their rarity. Such is the nature of MMO virtual economies. It's not simple selfishness or greed like you guys make it out to be. World economies evolve based on the traditional or normal influx of items, be it from events or from boss drops. Introducing item migrations disrupt the economy, and it's almost always a negative effect.I don't understand the don't have server transfers and bring items or gold because someone might also have am item that you have. It just seems a very selfish and greedy reason to deny an opportunity that many want.
Re: Formal world transfer system: pros, cons, and thoughts
#87Fml you sound so pathetic. You're saying the whole game should suffer so that you can keep your 1 Item? That's good logic man. You obviously also didn't read the discussion as I wrote a paragraph on how the "it ruins economies!" argument is ridiculous and unfounded. It will ruin individual economies

As for members of Avalon on the forums, I have never once in all the time I've used the forum seen a post in which an Avalon member has commented/suggested something that would make the game easier for the other people on their server. Similarly, I've never seen any of them post anything that is good for the game, however not their clan and actively campaign against other people's suggestions and ideas that do. And Pigman shouldn't be able to moderate a topic that he can't remain unbiased towards, especially when he's not enforcing any forum rules, however I apologise if it's not him that's been deleting posts on certain topics, it's just interesting that Aileron's were not removed.
Now this is not an Avalon bash session, but all the time you always support eachother on everything and in my opinion have a negative impact on the game's progression and in some cases make it worse.
And before you get your big lock and delete stick out moderator... Yes this is on topic as we're discussing why some people have biased opposition to world transfer as it goes against their own interests, rather than a concern for the rest of the community.
I ALMOST FORGOT. Instead of saying it's bad for android servers, you could have said it should be iOS to iOS and Android to Android, however you were obviously being contrary.

#90Pigman was just giving one example, and he used himself but he is not the only player in CH with a unique item in their server. Jeezus, you just like to *** and whine about Avalon, your rebuttals are no longer objective and makes you look more pathetic. There aren't really many Avalon active in the forums, it's really just Pigman and me, sometimes Pdizz and Pest would comment every now and then but where is this "Avalon clan actively campaigning against people's suggestions" huh? Show me. The fact that there are also other non-Avalon who are against server transfers COMPLETELY ELUDES YOU.Fml you sound so pathetic. The crux of the issue is that the good raid drops are just too rare. That is the one essential broken aspect of the game. If there were no such things are tiers or BoE, we wouldn't have needed to farm Aggy for 2+ years, and we would probably be done with Hrungnir by now. But no, the game forces us to keep farming forever, even though we have a small clan we just can't get the stuff we want from a boss and move on. We have never had a Godly Hrung helm that matters, we got Explosive Arrow (woot!) and Void Skull of Energy Shield (another yay!). We have asked, time and again for OTM to fix boss drops, remove BoE, suggest skill improvements - all good things for the game. What have you done really? Nothing but complain about my posts.
