Is there really a difference between the hammer sword spear and axe? Like i know the hammer has the most damage and is probably the slowest of them all but what exactly are the pros and cons of each of them. Is there one of them that would be preferred to use over the hammer?

I used the spear for a bit. Ended up with massive dps.
Skill order for me
Double attack-skewer-auto hit-giant swing-
Combine with sunshard fury and frenzy, keep skewer at lvl 1 and you will hit nukes.

I assume sword is nothing special looks cool though

Well for warriors hammer or axe are for rupture, spear is decent because skewer but sword was pretty much made useless this update in general also some bosses have less resistance to a damage type. Other then these reasons there are no real difference between the weapons and why someone should use one over the other.

ymir hammer and axe can make for a pretty good warrior build. going mostly strength, damage will be in the 2-3 thousands. you would be using shatter, double attack, rupture, frenzy, and as a fifth skill your choice between swing and pummel (using pummel gear). most people seem to underestimate the mighty ymir hammer, but im here to tell you its very good. also imagine a ymir hammer on a heroic haste. all ymir weapons are cool, but some of them suck pretty bad. thankfully warriors have decent ymir weapons aside from the sword.

Well pummel dont forget has nothing to do with what weapon you are holding, i can hit 4-5k with fists.

correct, pummel gear is needed to achieve high hits. with a slower weapon pummel is good because its fast, although i prefer swing for most levels.
