For those supporting the new version idols, here's something that happened to me today
I was on my way to camp snorri. After the sreng room, i died exactly next to a 4s bolg. As soon as i got aggro, it cast some skill (Not a light dmg skill) and i died again. soi had to lay down there with almost full 30 sec timer. Again i spawned, went a little ahead and another 4s with another op skill, killed me instantly. Again, about 20-25 secs timer. I get up again, and one of those bolg mages cast the fire skill. normally it does more than 1k but fortunately it did a 900+ hit this time. But satisfaction was short lived because a friggin' 1s cast its skill on me and i died with a 20 secs timer. This happened to me 3-4 times after update was actually introduced when i had anc idols in bank too but i forgot those. This particular instance made me never want to go to camp snorri again. Given some more time, its definitely going to make me quit this game. Added to the fact that i have to actually use idols to get to a dl boss, now i need to 5-6 idols to get there, or spam restos. And some people say these idols were not made to increase OTM's revenue.
To those who support the idea of these new idols, i challenge you to find me an explanation for this kind of situation. And its not just this instance where this can happen, there are alot of other places, E.g. trolls in mord pit, necro adds, hrung adds
As I've said we're making changes based on player feedback, new idols will be percentage based but not 100% health and energy, balance is still being tweaked and will be tested in the Tower beta.

Looks like having 50,000 ancient idols payed off
New idols will be better for casters who'll now get energy back as well as health, if you've got a melee build ancient idols may be more to your liking.
The way you are discussing how a meelee build would need ancient idol makes it sound like its availible, and much better for meelee builds. One problem... You got rid of them. If you want players to be satisfied, problem proofing a caster idol doesnt help the majority of the classes, so just add the old idol, and while your at it reduce mob dmage... Bosses that i used to solo with no plat kill me while i use a health lix and pots nowadays, considering quiting... (After those mounts otm r talking about appear, of course, but thats no reason to delay them for two years :))

Maybe it's your skill that's got crap cuz I can solo a boss just like I did before the update, I'm sure otm has mentioned that they didn't do anything to bosses and I have no reason to believe they would lie about that. On another note otm has mentioned in this topic more than once that idols are geting a look at so why are ppl still moaning about them like there not looking into it

It wouldve been faster to res at leystone, recover and try again this time avoiding that bad spot. Tunnels and Sewers were designed to be a gauntlet, thats why it has winding, narrow paths. That was the intention ever since Otherworld when the golem and ghost paths were made and the camo charms were removed. Get a warrior friend to aggro for you or get a camo from a friendly ranger if you cant get past it solo. Most mobs can be avoided if youre careful and if youre getting attacked by a mob, dont rush and aggro even more mobs.

EDIT: From your name I thought you were a mage. Your classes have the ability to go through tunnels unhindered or you don't have the health to survive running pass all the mobs. Mobs were not designed to be passed by, in other MMOs, no one gets to the end of a dungeon instance and bypass all the mobs. Some classes could (Rogue or Druid with sneak in WoW, for example), but generally they are there as a challenge.

^^This! now imagine if you were leveling and had 5 lixes active on you. Imagine how much time you just wasted. I'm glad that OTM is going to make the idols percentage based from here on. It makes me happy to know that they are listening to us about this!

^^This! now imagine if you were leveling and had 5 lixes active on you. Imagine how much time you just wasted. I'm glad that OTM is going to make the idols percentage based from here on. It makes me happy to know that they are listening to us about this!
Sorry, but imo, that's the penalty of dying. If you have 5 lixes on you and you still die to a bolg, you need to evaluate if you're in the right spot. They're not that close apart to gang up on you. In all likelihood, he aggroed 3-4 running past them and that's not the norm when leveling.

I also have this problem using 5 idols just to reach a boss with my warrior and rogue. And honestly having percent based idols still will not help that much. 50 percent of my rogues 4k hp is 2k that is 2 blasts from bolgs, where bolgs use there best skill immediately whenever u pass them... There will need to be more then another idol tweak to stop this problem if your doing only percentage based. And wulver u said ancient idols would be more suited for melee classes. Where in plat shop can I buy them? Oh yea I cant... As an active player with little funds I've gone through all of mine already and am digging myself into a hole just trying to get to a boss.. might I suggest health idols that restore full hp and 50 percent energy, then also idols for casters that give 50 percent hp and full energy. Again dying with 4k hp then using idol to get 2k hp will not help this idol problem. Mobs need to be revamped if this is your desired path.
